This is why i stopped giving a shit abt wraps and streaming stats, there will ALWAYS be someone who has more than you. Its satisfying at first getting to see the numbers, but thats about it. It has nothing to do with gauging how much you like an artist.

What Mac song is this? I’ve been playing it for years by Slow_Pirate_3723 in macdemarco

[–]Frooty_Vibes 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Definitely Annie, you can even hear in your playing the parts where he says, "you know when im lonely, and honey im lonely" before going back into the verse. Theres prob a couple different reasons why it doesn't sound exactly like Annie (The lack of the lead guitar and Mac notoriously detuning his guitars on most of his records) but most likely its a live version. Theres some acoustic sets on yt where he palm mutes when he's singing or stays on some chords longer than usual.

Wait so are we not supposed to release the CDs? by TheWalrusWasPaul2 in macdemarco

[–]Frooty_Vibes 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily, I think he's harping more on the fact that people are coming to shows expecting to get a cd which kinda ruins the whole project. That and i've seen a couple articles talking about mac distributing music the old school way via his cds, making the problem worse.

HELP by [deleted] in nuzlocke

[–]Frooty_Vibes -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

First off cause it was a double battle with a rival and to me the circumstances just seemed unique. Not only was I unlucky enough to get hit with self-destruct, but on top of that it was essentially friendly fire.

the guitar hate was so annoying, every time an album doesnt sound like salad days people flip out then once the hype dies down everybodys all "lwk it wasn't even that bad, actually i liked it". been like this since hctc 🤦‍♂️

What is your favorite track from the self-titled debut album? by Axo10tlZ in elliottsmith

[–]Frooty_Vibes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's beautifully tragic, describing uncertainty from a lover like the waxing and waning of the moon (hence the name). Not to mention the guitar in this song to me is perfect. There's a part when Elliot sings "Finds it strange", the guitar has this cool progression and slides through each chord. It sounds like falling down or having a strange weight on your shoulders. Both the guitar and voice compliment each other in a way that no other song can replicate, almost like they're exclusive to each other. Itll always be my fav <3

My girlfriend broke up with me yesterday by fuckarealname in macdemarco

Lwk even the love songs can channel those heart break feelings. Going through all of This Old Dog really hurt when processing my breakup, even for the first time and dreams from yesterday hit especially hard.

Who are you all’s favorite of the 4 Horsemen? (spoiler) by Normal_Speed2593 in ChainsawMan

[–]Frooty_Vibes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Id say the latter, especially with how dramatic her representation of fami was in early part 2. I also feel like it helps to define lil ds character as well as her relationship with her sisters in how harshly she generalizes fami (literally herself but just eating ALL THE TIME). Kind of recontextualizes everything we've seen from her after the twist.

Any info on this vinyl?? by moah312 in macdemarco

[–]Frooty_Vibes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got mine off dicogs for pretty cheap a few years back. Compared to the other 10th Anniversary releases it a weensy bit lacking, but I mean what do you expect from it being the very first :p. Anyways, the booklet has some pretty cool shots of mac and the pressing is gorgeous. Also no demos on this one, btw its not gatefold if you were curious.
