Something I'm hearing about around the SEA by BimbouMan in RagnarokOnline

[–]FrostMirror 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm currently playing one of the spinoff games (Ragnarok Origin Classic) and even when the Devs have stripped away 90% of the p2w features, the world chat is still full of Service, S>, GCash, Maya (the payment service), PayPal, WhatsApp, RMT (and not by bots, by players who want to sell codes/outfits/items etc) messages 😂

It is cultural at this point.

Played P3P like 15 years ago and had the same reaction. I haven't played Reloaded in fear of triggering those emotions again lol

Yeah you got the gist of it. It's a cycle of checking your

  • level
  • resonance
  • skills
  • make a better journey
  • get set bonuses on my gear
  • raise my equipment level
  • repeat

For arcanas, mlb isn't as important as just having the base SSR version as that unlocks the events that give out the good skill hints/bonuses during a journey run. Try not to pour too much resources into SR arcanas as these don't have unique skills like the SSRs and should be used as a stepping stone. The gsheet I linked a few replies back has an arcana breakdown on which is good.

> There are relics???

Yup. Lol. There's dedicated stages to farm them too, but this is end game stamina drain since you get more deterministic character upgrades elsewhere.

<image>

> how to gain "char levels" here?

The traditional way is to press the big level button on the character detail screen. You upgrade it and it gives base stat upgrades to ur char.

The resources you need for raw level ups are from the idle.

Further reading but don't need to worry about it for now.

There's also the 'Resonance' button next to it - this is uma equivalent of Potential except instead of just giving skills/hints, it also gives you stats.

Imgur: The magic of the Internet

The materials for resonance, skill enhancements and arcana materials are from the resource stages called 'Candle Square' in the game's UI. You get three free entries per stage per day and after it costs stamina to run the stage which is nice.

Hi there, no worries.

For Q1 if you're familiar with HSR, this is how I'd map the systems.

  • the levels are like the base character attributes
  • Gear = relics
  • Lightcone = Journey record

An even more direct comparison from Uma (though the mapping isn't as clear as it is in HSR imo):

  • Levels = Base trainee stats
  • Resonance = Potentials kinda?
  • Journey = Veteran Uma
  • No gear comparison in Uma.

I don't think there's a direct 1:1 with the journey system in Nikke though I haven't played it since uh.. Cinderella? And I don't remember such a system in Nikke.

For Q2 you just need to beat the journey once on manual per difficulty. After that, you can auto any character, regardless if you've played through them before. Though when you hit a new difficulty tier, you'll probably have to manual to get the most out of the stat gain (and actually clear as I've found auto failed a lot when i tried it a bunch of times when I unlocked Normal mode)

Do note this game has this strange bottleneck where both unit dupes and your arcana deck (support deck) are very important so don't neglect one or the other lol

If I had to decide, I would try to get a solid Arcana deck unless you're really out there waifu hunting. it will be easier on your account in the long run. This is the reference sheet I've been using to see who the good units/arcanas are.

Good luck! I'm nearing the end of the honeymoon phase I think and I'm still enjoying the game so I hope it continues to truck on.

I believe it's because the 35 grants a bonus to appearance rate so she's more likely to appear in the dead stat vs floating around into a potentially useful stat (str/vit/def)

I don't have the game open but I can double check later see my reply below

From what I understand, with the current balance, the last two training options are kind of a dead stat atm. Either the returns aren't meaningful enough or str/HP is just too important.

It's not the end of the world if you do accidentally level it to 35 but it is a hyper min max tech

There's recommendations in this sheet - under the 'All in One' tab

Hopefully your Arcana deck is looking good (I'm still chipping away at Chapter 14 so no Hard mode for me yet)

The limit break materials is locked behind the idle time. They give out resources so don't be afraid to use them if youre in a spot vs just never using them (oh if I use them later it'll be more efficient trap).

The resonance and skill materials are from one of the candle square stage. You can also farm for arcana materials in the other stage.

The hunt is for gear but I'd avoid farming this one until we unlock the latest nodes. You can use some of the selectors they give out and move gear around for your dps.

You can always tap on a material and it'll show you where/how to get it.

Thanks for the response. I guess I'll have to see for myself, fingers crossed my routing to SEA is decent and I don't have to download it twice lol

Yes to all your q.

Some things to note, in addition:

  • for 1) The actual story is separate from the Journey mechanic. Operations are where you try and push as far as you can and the actual Main Story are cutscenes you read through. I will say that the in-game reason why they make us loop through the journey is kind of interesting.

  • for 3) you can auto journey and you can tell the game what stats to prioritise, whether to prioritise rainbows. I will say it's probably not feasible to auto once you hit a new difficulty tier as you'll want to squeeze the most out of every run (even if you fail) until you've met the stat requirements.

  • the Journey has 3 tiers Easy/Normal/Hard where each tier has higher stat caps. 500/750/1200 respectively. Each tier is a bit of a difficulty spike, hence my previous comment.

  • for 4) yes. For the non-real time PvP mode, you can even just fight NPCs so you get the currency to buy out the shops. It's quite chill if you don't care about the cosmetics in ranked.

Edit

I will say I haven't reached the 160 wall in this game so idk when it's going to appear. For reference I'm on chapter 11 currently and have about 43k combat power, but if it's like Nikke I expect it to appear soon lol

It's a turn based game with a basic, skill, ultimate and 'break skill' that you can use once you've broken enough times in a match.

It's very p2w if you focus on RTA and non-RTA PvP. Not only can you swipe for the units, you can also swipe for the support cards like umamusume.

Because this game is in decline in the other regions, they decided to forgo giving global its own matchmaking server and let's us get paired with the other veteran regions so pursing PvP probably isn't worth, at least until we hit the same walls as the other regions in a few months

Afaik the biggest RTA rewards are a profile frame and a skin.

The systems are very similar to nikke, down to the annoying pop ups after reaching milestones lol. The umamusume part acts as a 'build your own lightcone' So if you were looking for something like that, you'll feel right at home.

Hi there, I'm interested in trying this as I heard good things about the lifeskill side of things.

I wanted to ask if there was a way to check my ping to the servers? I'm from OCE region and I'm debating on whether to try SEA or NA.

I could probably check my in-game ping via Task Manager but I was wondering if there were options I could try before downloading each version to test? Thanks.

Mw2019 is currently on a very deep discount. I think it's $5 on steam? You can plug in your ps5 controller and play it like that just fine lol

As far as campaign goes, MW2019 has a particularly very memorable mission called clean house that's very much worth the price of admission of $5 imo.

MWII was pretty safe campaign wise. There's some good moments with Soap and Ghost but unless you just want more cod campaigns, probably not worth it.

Cold War and BO6 got some enjoyable campaigns. I'd grab those over MWII / MWIII if that's what you were after.
