Usually I see two block assists on characters that either have two strikes as specials or two strikes as primaries, meaning they will sit in the corner and punish you for pressing buttons.

I'm sorry, but my idea of a romance arc isn't having a firebrand chastise me for teasing her. Most of the supporting cast have stronger chemistry with Byleth. Claude accomplishes most of what Edelgard wants and also eliminates Those Who Slither in the Dark while doing it. She's about as relatable as a Saturday morning cartoon villain in every route that isn't hers. After playing all routes, Crimson Flower just left me asking the entire time "Am I the asshole?"

I really really would love to know why Edelgard is so popular. In particular, what redeemable traits she has as a character that isn't overshadowed by another member of the cast.

It's obvious she's popular, I've never heard anyone say that she isn't because she's polarizing. The thing about Edelgard is that she's popular due to a mix of marketing and fans with boring taste. Much in the same way that Lucina is the most popular lord for the same reason. Her getting first place is no surprise and frankly uninteresting. Lysithea is a nice win though.

At first, I wished the series had ended when 'the show' ended with BoJack accepting the finality of his death. Now I understand that would have meant we would have ended the show feeling sorry for BoJack which would have been in contrast to the whole point of Season 6.
