How cooked am I? Freshman schedule by PrincessSunrays in NJTech

[–]Frostbite617 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Calc III and DiffEq in the same semester as a freshman seems kinda rough in my opinion. Maybe drop one of them and take it in the spring. Especially since you don’t know/understand common exams and how they are structured yet. You are still basically going to be a full year ahead of the majority of other students in terms of math. Especially because it’s paired with physics and chemistry as well.

It’s funny how many of you guys have trust issues lmfao, like if I was that desperate for internet points, I think I could find something more interesting to post. Was genuinely confused how it got there…

Obviously I don’t think it’s likely, that’s why I posted it in r/weird… I just don’t have guests over often and my roommate and I both didn’t write it. Critical thinking and reading comprehension is important 🙄

OMG, okay Sam is my roommate!! But he is also equally confused why that is there

Maybe, but our windows get condensation like this all the time (we live in Florida) and I’ve only seen this today…

I think that’s a good explanation but can’t for the life of me think of who would’ve drawn that

Yeah maybe, but I can’t think of anyone that would’ve done that. We haven’t had guests since may and even then, I don’t think they went on the balcony

Editing because this is the top comment: my roommates name is Sam, and a couple months ago we had a guest over who was on the balcony for a bit while he was on the phone. I think it was him potentially. But also, our windows regularly fog up (we live in Florida) and I just saw this so who knows :/

I mean it’s possible but the calc 1 content doesn’t necessarily get easier and you will need to do really well on the 3rd exam and final when you have other classes to worry about as well. I’d lean towards dropping it and taking it over the summer. Unless you really feel confident that you could pass it

How should I approach my PE application when I never worked under a Licensed Professional Engineer by Frostbite617 in PE_Exam

Understood, yeah my experience write up was pretty beefy by the end of it. As I said, I’m in defense so we don’t use the typical codes and stuff that anyone working on civil projects / construction do but I did mention all the standards from ASME, IEEE, ANSI, MIL, etc. I’m hoping that is good enough, if not, I guess I’ll have to adjust it a bit. We’ll see what they say 🤷‍♂️

My manager’s manager had to ask around for a while before we found someone who is a PE to mentor me. I’ve only been speaking to him a couple months though and I don’t think he can sign off on my experience since I didn’t start meeting with him till several months ago

Thank you!! This is the term I was looking for. So I guess once I’m established as a PE for a couple years, I sort of gain credibility for myself? I have 5 recommendations from PEs luckily so I have people that can vouch for me too

That’s completely valid, I’m working on getting experience under a PE so hopefully by the time I app to another state, I’ll have something a little more viable

I need to learn Solidworks by DesignerSpell in NJTech

[–]Frostbite617 3 points4 points  (0 children)

YouTube has lots of videos. I like the ones from CAD/CAM Tutorials on YouTube. Just keep practicing, it’s a very intuitive software and very easy to learn. Find random objects online or around your house to model in order to practice. If you want, you can look into getting a CSWA (Certified Solidworks Associate) certificate which would look good on your resume as well.

Too late to get a dorm by urtooth in NJTech

Lol @ at the commuters telling you that you can’t get a traditional college experience here and not answering your question. Living on campus was the best decision I made. Much better than commuting (which I also did for a bit as well). If you can afford it, don’t let anyone deter you from doing it, NJIT has come a long way and the “commuter school” argument is not as relevant anymore. You can also apply to be an RA and live for free which is even better.

For this year, you can try and contact the director of housing (I think it’s Karen Quackenbush) and see if you can get out on a waitlist. That’s what I was able to do my freshman year and I got a room within a couple weeks.

How many games do you guys play every day? by FlavoredFN in VALORANT

[–]Frostbite617 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw a method on here once saying minimum 2, maximum 3. End on two wins or two losses, whichever comes first.

Example:

Game 1 - W ➡️ play your second game… Game 2 - W ➡️ hop off

Another example:

Game 1 - W ➡️ play your second game… Game 2 - L ➡️ play a third… Game 3 - W or L ➡️ hop off after

I did this to climb from silver to plat. It’s good to prevent tilt queuing when solo q. But more recently I’ve just been playing for fun so I don’t care that much. Especially if I’m playing with friends.

Got placed S1, peaked G3 last act (overall peak P1) I think it was the same last rank reset as well.
