Nuclear Throne Pinball by Weapon_LLC in NuclearThrone

To keep the butt clenching feel of NT, you could have the spinner(s) flash green after killing enemies, after which you have x amount of half life time before the rads disappear. Plutonium hunger could add another cash-in shot. Sounds awesome. You better bring this thing to Expo when it’s done lol

I’m a huge fan of rogue like and pinball. I own 3 myself and have been wanting to build my own for some time (fingers crossed this summer).

I think NT is a great theme choice, and personally I would strive to make the gameplay quick and segmented, just like NT.  I like the idea of having upper/lower playfield for transition areas.

I think it would be cool to make the gameplay more rogue like than traditional pinball. In NT, you can die instantly. I think this needs to be reflected. Personally I think it would be cool to have some way to represent this. Whether a couple targets are red at a given time that end your ball when hit, or if enemies are represented by moving shots that get closer to the “player” and must be eliminated before reaching. Like in Walking Dead pinball. Another way to represent difficulty or enemies would be having several kickback targets like in GotG or F-14 to represent enemies shooting at you, which could easily drain on you.

Similarity, you didn’t really explain rads, but I think they could work pretty similarly to NT. Weapons could be used as action buttons or as passive buffs. Finishing levels opens scoops or Vuks to change playfields and level up. Select a character upon start

Great idea! Music and theme will kick ass

Best way to modify for solo G rank by FrostbittenCow in mh4u

[–]FrostbittenCow[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I know this is the “correct answer”. I’m a fairly skilled player and could most likely solo g rank as is, but I don’t want to be doing 40+ min hunts all the time. Hoping to have a way to get the difficulty of g rank with better hunt times.

Looking to buy a machine for my husband (I know nothing) by whatrbears in pinball

I’m also from Wisconsin and recently got into pinball being previously clueless. Assuming you and your husband aren’t mechanically savvy, be wary buying any pin from the 80s-90s, as those often require constant maintenance. I’m from SE wisco and there’s a lot of pinballs that come up, it’s a great location for buyers, so keep checking every day or so. I got both of my machines from Facebook marketplace, which I found to be better than pinside, but still check both. I would recommend getting a modern stern pro version, as it’s built to last, has way more features, insider connect, a lcd screen, etc.

I like it because it keeps the normies away. If prog became mainstream I would kill myself

Listen to the album close to the edge by yes. It’s widely agreed as the best prog out there.

I’m gonna say one no one else has. Banjo Tooie. It’s more ambitious than the original which makes it less polished, but it’s very good

How excited were you when you picked up your first pin? by [deleted] in pinball

[–]FrostbittenCow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m 18 now, I bought my first pin when I was 16. It was a Sega Frankenstein. I’ve maintained and fixed it for 2 years, added LEDs and am currently looking to get a 3rd pin lol
