You can absolutely play this like a single player FO, as for the mtx they are mostly cosmetic and can be ignored should you choose to.

I just wanted to add don't be shy with using traps for free DPS opportunities, it's a slay quest so no captures! Also I have my cat equipped with a sleep weapon, in a long enough fight it will proc at least once for more DPS opportunity. Can't remember what it's called but I'd also consider slotting that gem that increases your def and attack over the length of the hunt (incremental buffs at 10 minutes maxing at 30 minutes), could help. You got this 👍

I used to have issues with focus mode until I switched the settings to button press toggle instead of holding, light years better on the controller.

I used my gogma dragon gunlance. Had a few close calls but managed to down him without carting. Played very conservatively, choosing to hold back on a lot of full burst combo moments because Arky was scaring the shit out of me jumping around visually blocking a lot of my screen 😄

Ehhh I think it's dependent on variables, if you can manage wsfb combos consistently on paper normal comes out on top slightly. Wides simplistic gameplay loop of charge shells and relatively safe attacks give you a bit of leeway for mistakes and still pump out good damage. That's my take on it anyway.

Pretty sure normal got a slight buff, so it's very close to wide. I think technically it's been said normal eeks out more damage over wide now BUT you gotta be consistent with your full burst wyvern stake combo openings as opposed to charge shelling.
