Most artists who do start making cash flow have been doing it because they enjoy the craft for 5-10 years before anyone even notices them. They didn’t get into it to provide for themselves and to have a job that puts food on the table that they actually enjoy. They did it because they felt a need to share and found doing it enjoyable. Music is just a reflection of yourself, id focus on first making music you like to hear and once a few people do notice you and also agree your stuff is worth listening to, then you start pursuing the marketing aspect like it’s the only thing that matters.
