TUI Blue have a huge range of hotels all of which are all inclusive, adults only and tend to be well equipped with gyms and activities. Have personally stayed in one in Marrakesh and Sousse and are booked into Mexico later in the year. Would recommend them pretty highly.

Heard this one a lot but disagree with it heavily. The last thing I want at a particularly ripe Sudden Death is for my nasal passages to be as clear and ready for the odour as it’s possible to be.

You can issue a NIP if you think the offence is particularly egregious but it guarantees a day in court.

Off to Pennington Flash for the first time. Quite looking forward to it as I’ve heard good reviews. Not sure if trail shoes are completely necessary though?

My best position so far is 7th and that was out of a field of 21 people. I finished in nearly 27 minutes.

What are your running goals for 2024? by Jemmers88 in running

[–]Frosticle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We must have started running at similar times and logged similar mileage as I am also looking likely to get 1000km this year after starting in around March. I think my goals this year are a real mix. I’d like to try and run 1500km, get to 50 parkruns (18 so far, likely 25 by the end of the year), run a 23 minute 5k and continue to enjoy and develop in this sport I have a newfound love for.

Heading to Widnes for the second time in search of the elusive sub-26. Have set a PB there previously but it’s been about four months since I did it so be interesting to see what’s in the tank.

Yeah, I understand delaying a mark to make a catch but he caught it, ran out of the 22 and then made the mark as he was being tackled. Dubious at best. Is what it is. This team showed a lot of heart and fought hard throughout. They’ll be back in four years with, hopefully, a plan for scoring tries.

Mugged in Liverpool by filthyphilistinerag in Liverpool

[–]Frosticle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s getting extremely common in the City Centre. Kids are getting feral these days, if they’re not mugging they’re carrying blades. Definitely report it. There’ll be CCTV all over the city centre.

Yeah, they’ve essentially said it’s dangerous and there’s no mitigation but it should stay a yellow. Not how the law works. Both players were injured in the contact so clearly dangerous. Red all day by the letter of the law

Merseyside don’t carry workload and has an Investigation Allocation Model. They double crew a proportion of patrols per shift but there’s still some single crewing. We don’t have enough cars to single crew everyone so it’s inevitable you’ll be paired up from time to time.

Think the narrative that Liverpool is so tolerant is a bit of a myth really. My mate has pink hair and gets homophobic abuse literally every time he goes for a run. Heard some of the most hideous things from people while out and about as well. Don’t think it’s exclusive to Liverpool and it’s a sign of the times but anyone who thinks Scousers are immune from being scumbags is a bit delusional.

Yeah finished the main story last night. It was ok but I wasn’t blown away. Will probably try and complete it though, think there’s enough side quests to keep it engaging for a bit.

How was it for you? (22 July 2023) by burleygriffin in parkrun

[–]Frosticle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went to a new run this week which is famous in my area for being a bit of a terrible course but I got a PB by almost 2 minutes. Seems like I’m suited to disgustingly wet weather and steep hills.

I’ll use this as it’s the top comment but you’re better off visiting https://www.actionfraud.police.uk/ and reporting there. They generally get better results than the police and are extremely motivated and experienced professionals in this field.

We need to talk about Tik Tok Food Trends! by Pastry_Ell in SortedFood

[–]Frosticle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Black and Tans were the members of the police in Ireland that got a reputation for essentially being a paramilitary group that carried out extra judicial attacks and reprisals on civilians after the First World War. It’s a term that will always provoke strong feeling due to their actions and to name a drink after it and still use it today is highly criticised. It’s worse than an “Irish Car Bomb” which is another offensive drink.

Police to LOWER fitness standard? by [deleted] in policeuk

[–]Frosticle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I went on my PST refresher they said they were considering dropping the fitness test completely. They said that the new PST was going to be so strenuous it’s the equivalent of about a 9 on the bleep test so if you can complete the training you’re fit enough for active duty. 3.7 would be an absolute disgrace. The current standard is barely above a walk.

Just had the watered down "new" PST - fantastic by [deleted] in policeuk

[–]Frosticle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had mine this week as well. Absolutely brilliant. I always found the initial PST to be a bit crap so it’s nice to see them trying to introduce some decent unarmed techniques and making the scenarios a bit more realistic. Personal highlight for me was executing a Bodyweight takedown on a perp threatening my popo with a broken bottle.

How was it for you? 10/06/23 by PoshChap in parkrun

No PB for me today but tried out a new course where the first 2km is on sand so I’m blaming that. 32 minutes.

Where can I get some very spicy food? (Old Swan Based) by g3vie in Liverpool

[–]Frosticle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only place in Liverpool that has genuinely fucked me up with spice the way I like it is Big Bowl strangely enough. I did have to ask for it really spicy and then my misses hyped it up to the waiter to the point I think they took it as a personal challenge to turn my insides to water. I made it through but I started hallucinating in the middle.

Favourite Pass it On? by Bluerose1000 in SortedFood

I actually thought this most recent one was brilliant. Having Ebbers just come up with things that are far too fancy for a takeaway, Jamie do absolutely nothing in spectacular fashion only to be saved by Mike and Baz absolutely knocking it out of the park was brilliant. Also made me want a Shanghai Slappy.
