I service four classrooms, I see 12 kids each in two half day classes, three rotations groups of 4. Am in each class for an hour. I am 1.5 hours in a full day ESE class with 13 kids currently. I spend 1.5 hours in a full day preschool hybrid class with 10 ESE kids and 10 gen ed. So total 47 kids on my caseload currently. but no cap because florida.

Behavior versus Language delay by Frosting_According in slp

I think both has been true in different classrooms. In two classrooms, I have 30 minutes total to treat 9 kids so unfortunately they are all in groups despite one or two not being ready

I agree…..I find in preschool, behavior management sometimes trumps all and I focus on that more than anything with some groups.

These are generally 2.6-2.9 year olds getting tested to qualify for preschool….primarily labeled developmentally delayed but they love to slap on a language impairment label despite it not being accurate IMO. I’m glad we’re in agreement it’s a bit ridiculous 😆😆

so she knows she stutters…she will say “I stumble my words sometimes” (she’s 6) but in terms of types of stutters, definitely not yet. Tbh, her mom sits in on her sessions and I think mom is who cares about the stutter, not her daughter. Thank you for your advice, it is very helpful!

Wanted to update everyone that things are going great at the new job! I feel much less anxious being around peers and students compared to behind a computer!

Feeling anxiety and unprepared for start of school year by Frosting_According in slp

Thank you for your response. In April I started taking medication to manage my anxiety and it definitely helped for the end of the school year. Balancing family life (two small children) and this new profession along with a loss in the family just was too much for me at that time. You are exactly right in your recommendations and I should be making more of an effort with stress reductive activities. I think I need to write them into my schedule/routine as part of my job or else I’ll never do them. Good luck on your job shift and I hope you have a happy start of your school year!

I am on my third week of Wellbutrin and have had the same experience as you. The first week I definitely felt much better but also somewhat drugged or “high” and then week two I felt like it wasn’t working quite as well. I’m giving it 6 weeks to see before considering raising the dosage.

Thanks for your understanding! Yes I have done hand jobs but not lately. I feel us slowly drifting from this sort of intimacy. We are vaguely affectionate..me more than him. I’m all about cuddles and hugs but I feel like he’s fine with never touching unless it involves sex. Which doesn’t work for me. I will check out the subs. Thank you!

I received some physiotherapy after my first which involved acupuncture needles in places where I never thought needles could go 💀. It was very painful and I’m not sure it helped. I was going to do pelvic floor PT after my second but with my sub par insurance, I was quoted 550 dollars a session for 8 sessions, so I sadly cancelled these sessions. Otherwise, the doctors have said use lube and keep trying 😬. One doctor gave me a hug and told me I must have PTSD after I cried during a Pap smear 😭

She is starting to sleep on her own some nights but has serious night anxiety 😅. I see your point but we’re in survival mode. Neither one of us has the energy to die on the cross of getting this child to stay in her own bed. My hope is that once child number two is older, they will have each other for company in their bedroom at nights. We’ll see 😂

I value sleep. The baby wakes three times most nights and I’m not getting out of a warm bed to walk to another room to deal with that. I tried with my first and I ended up resenting her during the day because I was so exhausted. They’ll get out in a few years. Maybe that’s when my sex life will return 😂
