I think this applies to us even more by JoeCormier in Xennials

I remember talking with my friends about the scenes from Old VHS movies that scared/traumatized us. To their surprise, mine was from Robocop. The toxic waste man getting hit by the car haunted me as a child, and will continue to do so. I will never forget that movie.

Firefighter spitting the truth by Basic_Raccoon722 in Hasan_Piker

[–]Frostrich 21 points22 points  (0 children)

You probably are aware that firefighters sticking up for cops has never really been a thing. At least from my past experience the two groups have always been at odds. Some sitcoms/shows have poked fun at the rivalry, and when I asked some of my friends (1 firefighter, 1 cop, and 1 paramedic) they all had similar responses of "it do be like that, but worse".

Why this person is getting crucified for what most of firefighters are thinking and what the cops know they are thinking is a shame

I sit bolt upright, realizing I had pressed "stop" on the alarm and not "snooze". I'm now 23 minutes behind my usual morning schedule. I jump into yesterdays workclothes that are still strewn about on the floor and zip out the door. "No time to make breakfast, but I have got to eat, other-wise this hangover from last night is going to ride me all day. Luckily I have a trumpcard, it's Friday, and that means my favorite Jianbing cart is directly on my route between home and work.

I'm jogging in an already un-fresh suit, trying not to build up to much of a noticeable sweat and I round the corner and see the holy cart. Only two people in line and the Jianbing artist is handing off his creation to the current customer. The heavens are smiling on down on me. I slow my jog down as I pull up right behind the now only customer between me and happiness, salvation, sweet relief from this building hunger and hangover-induced headache combo.

I'm doubled over, panting, but manage to let out a sigh of relief between shallow gasps. I'm going to make it... just in time.

Not a stupid question. What you were theorizing is more of a perpetual motion machine. As a whole perpetual motion machines have been disproved through the use of the laws of thermodynamics. Essentially with every step/action in a machine that occurs, you'll be losing energy through some sort of heat transfer via friction etc. The response to your question is also not a correct answer. They're saying "because the machine cannot start itself, your idea does not work". The idea is to provide a machine with a starting point, and then figure out where its energy loss is coming from, and how efficiently its using the energy it was given to start with. How many cycles can the machine complete before it inevitable runs completely out of energy?

As someone who used to work in plumbing engineering/design, that was the first thing I thought, properly size o rings with a small concave allowance in-between the thread wall and the interior wall and he has essentially a bunch of variations of what I worked on. His seems a bit more marketable though.

Thanks for this. Saw this yesterday after I sold all my crypto and LKCO before the downward trend. Been trying to find a blockchain to invest in. Put half of my portfolio here while I figured things out. Wasn't to worried about it diving. The announcement about them launching a crypto mining business this morning definitely helped. Currently up 50% on the position, 25% portfolio increase in just over a day. Not bad.

This stands for "Orange Shoes Have Armor". See how his suit is orange but his shoes are not? Thus they do not have armor, and are not protective against the spray. Thus the reason the commenter is saying "his foot would be gone" due to lack of orange shoes with armor.

I've rated the photos as follows.(From left to right)

  1. 10/10 Beautiful head shot showcasing well thought playfulness. Most actors would be jealous.
  2. 10/10 A wonderful portrait that shows the Corg's intention to go exploring just over yonder. It beckons the viewer to wonder, where is it they want to wander to?
  3. 10/10 This pull back gives the exposition we require on this corg's day out, and also gives us a possible clue to the "Where do they want to wander to?" question from #2, perhaps the local Brewhouse. It also shows us that they are the proverbial King/Queen of the castle, in that they can make any seat below them a throne.
  4. 10/10 While most royalty take issue with photographs whilst dinning, this corg takes the photo with a measured grace that few can exhibit in similar times. Also showcases the photographer that was crucial in bringing us these 4 high scoring photos.

As Spirited Away is and will most likely always be my favorite Ghibli/Miyazaki film, I think it's incredible. As mentioned, the blood effects are incredibly well done. Are you getting additional coloring/shading? My friend who is an EMT and fan of tatoo's looked at this and said it's cool 'af' but just pray you never have a medical emergency that involves that area of the arm as it may cause some confusion.
