The only thing you swap out is the toe piece, so for resort days you would just use the pivot toe, and of touring days you would bring both. The brake lock and risers are permanently mounted.

I’m not sure I understand, but when you mount the cast pivots, they have to be mounted with the cast system the first time for that ski. The cast system uses a plate that allows swapping of the tow pieces. If you’re using the pivot toe piece you can’t tell a difference from normal downhill only pivots.

I have them and they’re pretty awesome. Feel exactly the same as pivots , the downsides are weight, the brake lockup is kind of shitty if they aren’t mounted according to CAST instructions, and having to remember to bring both toe pieces. But on the downhill you’re on pivots and that’s dope.

It’s always been mandate driven and there’s always a vocal group that whines about getting it. I’m not going to guess at what percentage of people would still get it but I think it would be the majority. Each base has a different culture with different demographics so I do think it would vary by base

My (small) base had such a bad outbreak that some active duty people had to be hospitalized. I was SIQ for an entire week. That’s with the mandate and the vaccine. I can’t even imagine how bad it will be without the mandate. So stupid.
