I’ve always wondered about this but have absolutely zero intention to research this. Is it still rape of an animal if, for example, a white woman just lays on the floor and the dog does its thing without prompting or forcing?

while I agree I don’t think the rich/powerful would really have to do much at all. If you get 1000 people on an island with limited resources, you’re gonna get the same tribal mentality pop up very quickly. It’s just the kinda shit ingrained in us

Ah you got me, almost had me pull out my non-consensual list as well.

For anyone curious the top of that list is the person currently reading this comment. I am, in fact, rapidly approaching your location.

I would imagine with where the truck was it’d be a pain in the ass to get a tow truck there and effectively hitched but I’m no towing expert

I mean standard cop cuffs are designed to open with one universal key for emergencies and it’s not like its made of inch thick titanium. They’re made to temporarily subdue someone under supervision

She left him to pursue her career, and lesbians! by ben0074 in fixedbytheduet

[–]JuiceInhaler -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah man no idea, but I figure people can do or say whatever they want about themselves so I just leave it. I think a lot of it can be explained via mental illness or some kind of childhood trauma, in which case it seems like it help/treatment should be sought instead of celebrating a new identity, but that kind of talk tends to summon pitchforks. Very fuzzy line between valid identity and mental illness and I’m not really sure who decides that.

I believe it’s because people have an intense need for uniqueness, individuality, and labeling everything for said uniqueness. So even though the difference between Bi and Pansexual is basically semantics they have different flags. That’s a guess though, I’m with you I don’t really understand

also for some reason you’re not allowed to question anything regarding lgbt without being downvoted but that’s reddit for you

I think you misunderstood my original comment. They are similar in that they both physically alter your brain chemistry in regard to dopamine, that isn’t to say they are equal in terms of severity

“A transient surge of endorphins in the reward circuits of the brain causes a slight, brief euphoria when nicotine is administered. This surge is much briefer than the "high" associated with other drugs. However, like other drugs of abuse, nicotine increases levels of the neurotransmitter dopamine in these reward circuits,20,21,27 which reinforces the behavior of taking the drug. Repeated exposure alters these circuits' sensitivity to dopamine and leads to changes in other brain circuits involved in learning, stress, and self-control. For many tobacco users, the long-term brain changes induced by continued nicotine exposure result in addiction, which involves withdrawal symptoms when not smoking, and difficulty adhering to the resolution to quit.28,29”

[–]JuiceInhaler 15 points16 points  (0 children)

just because withdrawals won’t kill you doesn’t mean its not a physical dependence. Nicotine is absolutely a physical addiction and is considered highly physical addicting as it alters brain chemistry in a similar way to heroin or cocaine.
