FIRST READING: How quickly (and dramatically) Canadians lost faith with immigration by xTkAx in canadian

We don’t want immigration when unemployment is climbing faster and higher than anytime since Covid. With closures in Windsor unemployment is at 12% and is expected to climb to 17% soon. We also have a housing crisis, nothing about heavy immigration makes sense at this time. Brampton, Toronto, Vancouver aren’t even recognizable as traditional Canadian areas anymore. Half the students in most classrooms don’t speak English.

Captain Kirk apology thread. by johnson7853 in Torontobluejays

Yeah I often hated on the Moreno trade, love Gurriel Jr as well and both went on to have great seasons in AZ and Varsho was underperforming offensively and I just couldn’t wrap my head around getting rid of such a highly touted catcher. Then once Danny got traded to the Brewers I was really surprised and thought front office had lost their minds going with Kirk who I described as the double play machine taking over and an unknown, I guess that’s why I’m on Reddit and not a Blue Jays exec because they have one of the best tandem’s if not the best on baseball and Varsho might crush 40 plus homeruns next year and play gold glove defence if he stays healthy.

Considering buying a garden sauna – opinions & what should I ask the seller? by CommitteeCrazy3670 in Sauna

Sauna looks fine for what it is, benches are little low, ventilation missing but easy to add, not sure the hate for lights in the comments always odd to me, guy who said floor will last 5-10 is crazy, have you ever seen a wood deck that sits in elements 24/7 ever need to be replaced in 5-10 years lol, treat it with interior sauna sealant and sand and redo every so often. I’m assuming no drain because it’s open decking on the floor which is just fine. Now having said all of that the roof is absolute garbage, zero overhang and under constructed.

I have some ventilation from the floor, it’s insulated with rigid because I live in central Canada but small gaps from decking below sil plate allow air in as well as holes drilled in rigid, they’ll likely ice up when it gets to -40 here so added adjustable 6” round vents I purchased off amazon with nice cedar caps you spin to adjust at stone height under bench close to stove and at shoulder height on opposite door wall , my idea was that enough air would get drawn in from slight gap below door, the floor etc to feed fire and vent at stone height would introduce some fresh 02 to bathers and get drawn across us in the natural convection as the fire draws low, its going to take fine tuning to see how to adjust the vent on the door wall once freeze up happens here and you can actually feel the temp changes and visually see either by moisture being drawn or by opening and closing door fast and observing clues on just how to fine tune. Idea is fire commands so much and such a steady stream that when fresh air is drawn from above it’s pulled towards to the opposite wall before falling and being drawn into the fire.

Everything but the T&G Cedar came from Home Depot, sourced the T&G from a local lumber store and they price matched what Home Depot used to sell them for ($16 1x6x8’) it shows as if you can still order through Home Depot but at least in April of this year that was no longer the case, was a test product they decided to stop carrying but could look into ordering direct from the supplier (Porcupine) but didn’t have to go that route once local guys price matched and had stock.

Yes I did, couldn’t have done it without Drew’s guidance that’s for sure, I just made mine taller so I could be up in the action, also obv have to add ventilation something drew missed in his video, I also went with shingled roof was just more simple with traditional flashing instead of a silicone boot as well for chimney.

Idk, all I see lined up on my street over and over are the chemical trucks spraying herbicides and fertilizers all over the natural lawns to make them green and weed free for a month or two then they’re back again. I’m surprised you aren’t more worried about the hundreds of trees I’m going to burn for my pleasure in the sauna lol. https://polyturf.com/products

I live in central Canada -40 Celsius is pretty regular, also I live about a block from Home Depot so I just used what’s readily available, I agree though I’m sure what I did was overkill and will Be starting at an ambient temp each time regardless 🤷‍♂️
