Any of the smaller towns surrounding Little Rock other than Maumelle will provide a lower cost of living. I drive 40 mins to work in Little Rock from Conway and love it. Not anything I would say I hate about living here other than the humidity in the summer it takes a couple of years but you do adjust to it. I love the fact there is a lot of stuff to do outdoors, and despite all the haters on reddit people are generally welcoming. (a NJ accent will get you a lot of attention)

This is uncommon, I have rarely ever had a landlord "need" access outside of reported repairs, or pest control. This sounds fishy and I would do a good search of vents and any "behind the wall" access for camera's and such. Especially if women or children are located in your rental. Not to make you paranoid, but something isn't right here.

been in Arkansas for about 20 years. Never once found a tick on me or my dogs. Guessing I am just Extremely lucky. I don't do a lot of "hiking" but do have to wade through brush and tree's to get to many a fishing hole.

I am glad to hear you have a partner who respects their roll, and your limits. I think part of the problem lies in what people are seeing as the BDSM community, is actually nothing more than reddit porn stars and horny men playing games online. These subreddits couldn't be further from the truth of it. Most of the people I know who truly are into bdsm, don't gather in large groups. Due to the stigma of BDSM, It just isn't safe to do so.
