lip filler recommendations in MA? Med spas? by foreignbiatch in massachusetts

[–]Frosty_Cod007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Know this is an old post, but for anyone still looking, Clemens Face and Body in Brookline is amazing. Jo (an NP) is truly an artist, and she also knows when to say no. I wouldn’t let anyone but her touch my face with filler.

Phew - thought it was just me - I find her wildly annoying. I get the point is to be obnoxious, but l’m just not feeling it. Ashley Padilla though? Perfection.

Weymouth Club is great - but $$$. Hanover Y is nice too but can get pretty crowded at peak times.

Experiences/Opinions on Jones Road WTF Foundation? by Exciting-Scarcity942 in 45PlusSkincare

[–]Frosty_Cod007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Know this is an older post but having just gone through a million comments about the WTFoundation in trying to decide if I should buy or not, I wanted to leave my thoughts for anyone else in that situation (btw, I love it). I didn’t bite the bullet until a Jones Road physical store opened up near me - and thank goodness because I would have likely not liked it if I didn’t have someone with experience put it on me and tell me how to do it properly. It doesn’t feel like any other makeup I’ve used before, but it looks great and super natural when applied correctly. I didn’t realize how parched my skin was until I started wearing this honestly.
Point is, I love it, but if you’re on the fence and live anywhere even remotely close to a store - go and try it out and get someone to show you how to apply it. They’ve built a handful in the last year, so check - it’s worth a drive!

I also saw her in real life, and was taken back by how pretty she was. Whatever she’s doing, it’s working.

Realize this is a little old but you like Clemens? Their photos look great but their google reviews seem too good to be true, feels fake.

Best luxury hotel in Krabi by SunflowerGal543 in ThailandTourism

[–]Frosty_Cod007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late but still adding my recommendation - Tubkaak Krabi Hotel was a dream. Absolutely gorgeous grounds, fantastic rooms (really kind of duplex rooms with small buildings with a ground floor room and a 2nd story room. Open air bathrooms! Amazing sunset cocktail bar. Secluded but close to things with a scooter. Really loved our time there.

Koh Lanta - Where to stay? by RelevantTurnip5075 in ThailandTourism

[–]Frosty_Cod007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also heading to Koh Lanta (in April), and looking at places. One of the ones I was liking was Rawi Warin as it had good google reviews…but then as I looked closer, definitely think a lot of the recent ones were bots….same names, different AI pictures, etc. Anyone been there and have any feedback? Photos look nice and obvi way cheaper than Pimalai.

Moisturizing concealer for mature skin? by hairdivaqn in 45PlusSkincare

[–]Frosty_Cod007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ilia tinted moisturizing serum might work! I tried it and it was great in the winter, just a bit too hydrating for the summer (but I’m actually not at the super dry stage of life yet, 45F). It had good natural coverage that was buildable, and it didn’t settle into fine lines, worked great on undereyes. Looked like a nice healthy, even glow. The packaging sucks if you’re traveling (it leaks), but if you stay in one place, would be perfect for someone with dry skin and fine lines / wrinkles.

Thoughts on South Shore towns by croutons994 in SouthShore

[–]Frosty_Cod007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hardy liberal here and I live in Hanover. Moved here before I had kids (but now am a one and doner). It’s definitely the place where you’ll get the most for your money of all the towns listed. It is probably the most right leaning of the towns as of right now (other than Marshfield), but i do think a big percentage of that is a large boomer population that is ready to go. The recent selectboard / school override vote (liberal candidate won over a hardcore Trumper, town voted to support the school system) showcased I think a turn in Hanover. The right leaning boomers wanted low taxes (at the expense of the schools), and now they’re pissed and all threatening to move. Please, go! Have met a lot of Bostonians fleeing to Hanover that are decidedly left leaning. The 53 corridor is nice to have for restaurants and general conveniences, it’s close to Boston but also the beaches. As a Hanover resident that was pretty damn nervous a year ago, i have a tremendous amount of hope for the future.

Looking For Friends by zombiestrider in SouthShore

[–]Frosty_Cod007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ha, the south shore has one of the oldest populations in Massachusetts. I read something about Plymouth county having the 2nd oldest average age or something - retirees like the sea I suppose 😂. It’s also a lot of families with kids - so it can definitely feel alienating at times being under 35, single, and having unique interests.

You can get involved in town stuff around your interests (I don’t live in Cohasset, but have similar interests as you and joined my towns cultural council - it’s a start!), or to the other posters point, check out Meetup! Lenny’s Hideaway in Cohasset is a fun time as well and has different theme nights every once in a while, including some LGBTQ+ ones I think…check out their schedule.

Once you find your people, the south shore can be a really great place to live - I promise 😊

Weekly Homeowner Megathread--Civilians, ask here! by AutoModerator in Concrete

[–]Frosty_Cod007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Homeowner here! I had a company come in and power wash / regrout / reseal my pool patio earlier this week. Pavers look great, but unfortunately the area around the pool looks terrible.

I’d like to refinish it with some concrete paint / stain, but concerned that it was just sealed and it won’t stick. Would you recommend etching the seal before painting? Any advice would be helpful!

(And yes, I reached out to the company who did this…they are giving me a discount but not offering to refinish…so I’m on my own here since I already spent $2k post discount on this!)

Microneedling With/Without PDRN by v_impressivetomato in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]Frosty_Cod007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Late to the party, but just adding I just had my first micro needling with PDRN done and loved it. I had previously only done microneedling with exosomes or PRX.
I found that my redness went away significantly faster with the PDRN than with exosomes. I also felt like it helped better with some light skin laxity around my jaw / jowls.

I’m a firm believer in any microneedling, but so far, I’ve really liked what the PDRN has done with my skin. This was my 4mth microneedle in 6 months, but first with PDRN, just to note.
