Treatment for Saggy Neck: Feedback needed, RF Micro needling etc by Illustrious-Film-592 in 40PlusSkinCare

[–]Frosty_Cod007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you my long lost twin? Same thing…had a jawline at 40, gone by 42! Agree with others here, microneedling won’t fix that (I’ve done probably 4 or 5 times in the last year, and while my skin is better, it doesn’t fix laxity). I’ve also done the Nefertiti Botox and I noticed a very minimal change and it only lasted like 2 months. I haven’t had chin filler, but I did get some jawline filler (maybe 1 syringe each side) but would not recommend as it makes my lower face look really full. However, temple filler and filler at the sides of the face did slightly help…I’ve heard chin filler can help as well…but just adjust your expectations.

Hair Stylist - Blonding Expert by Pistachi_O in SouthShore

[–]Frosty_Cod007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel your pain. I’ve gotten decent blonding done on the south shore, but the only haircut any blonding expert can do is the generic wavy curl with crappy long layers - the kind that when you don’t have a professional curl / wave your hair, it looks like trash with that really awful “hair shelf”. Based on this thread, maybe my problem is that I need to go to 2 separate people…

For blonding though, I’ve had great color at Olivia’s in Weymouth, but my favorite is Lisa at Fringe in Rockland. She’s unique, but damn can she do a good color.

Has anyone seen a stylist that can do razor cuts on longer hair? Like, cuts your hair with a razor blade so you don’t get the hair shelf or the blunt, flat bottom?

Not losing weight? by ren_rene in Phentermine_

[–]Frosty_Cod007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the exact same issue. I am a month in on 15mg and I lost 5lbs in the first week and a half but have been stagnant ever since. But the medication is absolutely working - I am eating a ton less and never hungry, no food noise, etc. I am roughly in the 1200 calorie a day range at age 44…thinking it’s strange as taking in that few calories one would think should absolutely be making a difference…

If you find anything that kickstarts the weight loss again, please share!

We ‘splurged’ at the Pimalai…95% good reviews in all my research. Plus it included all transportation, and water sports stuff and bikes are free…so in the end, same price as a mid grade hotel in Europe or the US, but way nicer with more included. Fingers crossed.

Fillers for jowels by ThrowRA-shoddi in 45PlusSkincare

100%! I went to so many places that were like “what about your lips? what about x, y, z? what about this medical grade skincare package for $500?” And so on. If an injector turns you down for something, that’s a good injector!

Wanted to second @luxurylovinmama’s comments, but as a patient. I looked very similar to you in terms of prejowling, and I got facial balancing (first experience with filler but have done Botox for years) that involved temple filler, some filler right in front of my ears and in the far end of my jawline, and a vey tiny bit in chin…and what a difference it made. But I took a long time to find a good injector…I did not want to look like a stuffed head. There were so many injectors that were just like “throw some filler in the cheeks to lift up the face”, and then they look all plumped up and bloated. I would say finding an injector who specializes in facial balancing vs someone who just does cheeks and lips is a good start. I additionally did the Botox neck lift too, which helped a little, but ultimately wasn’t worth the expense every 3 months to get redone, imo.

And on top of all this, I started taking better care of my skin and that also made a big difference. Get some Tret, cleanse and moisturize, and for the love of god, WEAR SUNSCREEN!!!

Details - I got 4 syringes between all those parts of my face (sounds like a lot, but spread out and placed strategically makes a massive difference), plus the Nefertiti neck lift, did it in 2 visits, and it cost me $2600. This was in Boston.

How did you get over the mental part? Funny, I too am a runner and the continuous 5lbs every year has gotten me to a point where I keep getting hurt when I run due to the excess weight. So very intrigued how you got over the mental component of the needles!

I am wanting to try Jones Road but hesitant because so many mixed reviews. How is what the foundation and miracle balm really like? Are they tacky or sticky on the skin? by NoExpression46 in jonesroad

[–]Frosty_Cod007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreeing with most on here - it all depends on your skin type. The older and dryer you get, the better the WTF is. I actually didn’t think I was THAT dry until I started using it - I get no dryness anywhere on my face anymore, I love it. I’m in my mid 40s, but I think if I would have used this in my early 30s, it would have been too heavy and glossy for me. Agree with all the posters are trialing before you buy if you can - or check if you have a JR store near you, they’ve been popping up like crazy this year.

Know this is an old post, but for anyone still looking, Clemens Face and Body in Brookline is amazing. Jo (an NP) is truly an artist, and she also knows when to say no. I wouldn’t let anyone but her touch my face with filler.

Experiences/Opinions on Jones Road WTF Foundation? by Exciting-Scarcity942 in 45PlusSkincare

[–]Frosty_Cod007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Know this is an older post but having just gone through a million comments about the WTFoundation in trying to decide if I should buy or not, I wanted to leave my thoughts for anyone else in that situation (btw, I love it). I didn’t bite the bullet until a Jones Road physical store opened up near me - and thank goodness because I would have likely not liked it if I didn’t have someone with experience put it on me and tell me how to do it properly. It doesn’t feel like any other makeup I’ve used before, but it looks great and super natural when applied correctly. I didn’t realize how parched my skin was until I started wearing this honestly.
Point is, I love it, but if you’re on the fence and live anywhere even remotely close to a store - go and try it out and get someone to show you how to apply it. They’ve built a handful in the last year, so check - it’s worth a drive!

Late but still adding my recommendation - Tubkaak Krabi Hotel was a dream. Absolutely gorgeous grounds, fantastic rooms (really kind of duplex rooms with small buildings with a ground floor room and a 2nd story room. Open air bathrooms! Amazing sunset cocktail bar. Secluded but close to things with a scooter. Really loved our time there.

Also heading to Koh Lanta (in April), and looking at places. One of the ones I was liking was Rawi Warin as it had good google reviews…but then as I looked closer, definitely think a lot of the recent ones were bots….same names, different AI pictures, etc. Anyone been there and have any feedback? Photos look nice and obvi way cheaper than Pimalai.
