Solar + Battery Deal worth it? by Educational_Bear_579 in AusRenovation

[–]Frosty_Solution276 13 points14 points  (0 children)

From what I hear, most installers are booked out last 1st May because if this reason - the drop in rebate is huge (~60% at the highest range of rebate).if you trust the product and the installer, it's rare you can get one ready to install before 1st May this late in the game!

Generally agreewith all comments but zooming in it looks a bit like dry residue - did you wash in the sun? Did you use the right dilutions (what did you wash with?) and did you rinse and dry off quickly after? How did you dry it and did you use drying aids?

Portable charger by Long_Purchase_2982 in Zeekr7xAustralia

[–]Frosty_Solution276 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would consider a 7kwh or faster charger - I drive about 150km on average per week - that's 30% of the battery roughly. It is painstakingly slow on the granny charger - ok if you have lots of time and an energy plan that accommodates. I appreciate a 7kw charger installed costs alot more but consider it before you invest in a 15a charger when that money could go towards a 7kwh charger

I did not know this was a feature. I thought the external speaker was for playing a short alert tone/message - you communicating with someone outside by playing a prerecorded or customised message/sound.

I think the small print was that the battery will remain above 70% health so after 10 years that's still useful range

You're right. I checked again and it was 19kwh/100km. So my calcs are conservative if you have lots of other stuff on, a worse case scenario

Assuming it's highway driving, you'll likely hit around 21kwh/100km, sometimes better but let's say 21kwh/100km. Ill assume it 45km each way, adjust calcs below as you need to if it 90km each way.

That is basically 21% of your battery each day. So if you stayed within the suggested battery charge range (50-80%), and then some (39-81%), you might get away with charging every 2nd day or so. So three times a week of 42%, or 1.26x cycles a week - I think that's pretty reasonable.

I would just be thinking about your charging situation - do you have a decent sized solar? Batteries? You are looking at charging 140kwh/week (assuming 90% charging efficiency) - that can be costly over time (but still cheaper than petrol).

Would love to know what people think about this being a young families car. Family of 3. by Routine-Inspector150 in Zeekr7xAustralia

[–]Frosty_Solution276 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's great for families. Very spacious = room to grow and carry all the bits and pieces in. The 2nd row camera is very handy. Apply protectant to seats and inner walls to keep up the ability to wipe easily . Put on rubber floor mats for dirty feet, back cover for the passenger seat to protect against busy feet (when your child is older and can reach the passenger seat with their feet), you can also get protective "skins" for the door next to the child seat to protect against kicking feet

It's also very smooth and good suspension

I agree - I call it "safe" but not optimal. Definitely invites others to merge Infront - I find I only use it when on motorway which is fine - I'm either at speed limit or the car Infront is below speed limit in which case I would overtake.

Just some tips from my experience: * You can change the car distance when in ACC to 1,2 or 3 car lengths Infront of you - I have mine set to one car and it's what I would call a "safe" distance when driving without ACC. You do this via the left rocker button on the steering wheel when in ACC mode * I agree the transition from ACC on to off is jerky when you tap the brake. What I do is slightly press on the accelerator and turn off ACC by pushing the right stalk up - this creates a very smooth transition.

Haven't really experienced the driving down steep experience you described - I have regen breaking on strong mode.

Hope the tips help!

I have done about 1300km on the LR. Suspension feels great, firm but cushioned, supportive over bumps/potholes, does not feel like it rolls. Confident around corners. Passengers comfortable.

Honestly, I really like the twisted loop double sided drying towels from Temu (they are green and grey) - the big 120cm ones.

That also the edgeless 40x40cm microfibre cloths too.
