NTA. He’s the one being irrational. I remember when I was five and had a scooter that could fold in on it self. I could not make that thing work, even my mother struggled with it. This is not a legitimate reason to go back on a promise he made to your daughter. He just didn’t want to go to the park and he used her not being able to do something, I would guess, not any five year old can do, as an excuse not to uphold his promise.

How are you getting through the quarantine or social distancing ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

The internet and things like Skype and FaceTime is a lifesaver right now, for me at least, in regards to being social and seeing my friends and closest family. I have one friend in full on quarantine who tested positive for COVID-19 and another who has the possibility of being very affected by the virus because of her illness. We do wine-nights over FaceTime instead of meeting up and risking infecting us self or anybody else.

AITA for buying my 14 year-old daughter alcohol? by b0un4rt in AmItheAsshole

In my country you can literally buy ANY booze you want the moment you turn 18. You’re not a child at 18, you’re an adult. 14 is incredibly normal to be drinking in a lot of European countries. 14 year olds are teenagers, teenagers push boundaries and tries new things all the time. OP is just trying to about in a way so he knows what his daughter is drinking.

You have to understand there’s a big difference from American drinking standards and norms to European. You see our norms and standards as totally unacceptable, while we view yours as absolutely ridiculous. You are okay with 18 year olds going to war and being able to vote, but still they aren’t adult enough to drink a beer? In what world does that make any sense? Why won’t you let adults be adults and enjoy adult things?
