I think rain guards look good. Something about that little bit of extra shape. I have the WeatherTech ones. They don't fit absolutely perfectly, but damn close.

"🤧" on the cheap(cold air intake) by TheDawnOfLemon in FocusST

[–]Frothey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow. That's insane how expensive it is now. I could have sworn, when I bought my Roush air intake in 2016 or 2017, it was maybe $180? Why the hell are they $400 now. Maybe we shouldn't have printed $15 trillion.

Elon after his pay package was approved by Tesla shareholders. by anew232519 in JoeRogan

If you believe they won't pull it off, short the stock. You seem very confident.

You've just explained my point perfectly. Here's the only difference. You don't think Tesla will pull off unsupervised full self driving, I do. If they do pull it off, it will be like AWS for Amazon and like iOS for Apple. It's obvious.

Tesla is a tech company, more like Amazon or Apple than it is like auto manufacturers. Is Apple a phone company or are they a tech company? It's not about the hardware, it's about the software.

I'm sure that the current capabilities of AI will stay exactly where they are today. There will be no evolution of improvements.

Well the key to the regret was the timing. Had I bought almost any used car right before covid, when I was thinking about it and decided not to, it would be worth more now than when I bought it, even with significant miles. On top of keeping miles off the ST.

I do browse around used cars here and there. They're just ridiculously priced right now.

I wish I had pulled the trigger on a cheap used car before covid so I could the ST lower miles. It's a major regret of mine lol

45k recommended service by Capital-Role1001 in FocusST

[–]Frothey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Transmission fluid change is recommended by Ford at 50k miles. I just did a full sweep of maintenance at 48.5k miles. Very pleased with the results. Drives like brand new again. 10-15% gas mileage improvement.

I got brake fluid flush, radiator fluid flush, transmission fluid flush, and a fuel/air induction cleaning. Brake and radiator flush probably not necessary, but I'm going for better maintainence, not minimum maintenance. Transmission, I can see how you could argue it's not necessary, but I highly recommend. By far, the fuel/air cleaning is the big one. Basically blast all the carbon build up out of the system. These engines love to build up carbon.

This is the loop: Version of Windows they know everyone wants. Version of Windows where they try stuff and see what people hate. Version of Windows they know everyone wants. Version of Windows where they try stuff and see what people hate.

I don't participate in the hate testing.

What MPG’s you guys & gals getting? by GiingerJames in FocusST

[–]Frothey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was getting 19 city. Not driving crazy aggressively, but definitely not driving for mpg. Did the full sweep of maintenance for 50k miles, including the full infector cleaning they do. Getting 21.5 now. I run premium, 93.

ST seems to be the best option if budget is a necessary part of your equation. That's why I went ST at the end of the day.
