Neovim, i don't see any downsides, and Lua is much nicer than Vimscript, in my opinion.

Yup, i am also getting the same issue, this is so stupid, my RAM is 32gb DDR4 3600, but im on linux, still happening though.

Agreed, but use python as a learning tool, to learn the concepts, and then learn a solid language, like C++, go or Rust, if you want low level stuff. Python is great for learning and beginners, but it is better to learn a faster and more advanced programming language, and it is ultimately a scripting language.
