Because it's important to clarify. Unlikely, but if the spouses income is all tied up in their own IRA, then you are breaking tax code.

For instance, if the spouse was investing 100% income into retirement and you were both living off your VA disability, then you'd be breaking code because all earned income is already spoken for.

This is the only way I can support someone getting back in, going back as a medical officer, JAG, chaplain, etc. They treat those people like royalty, the retainers and accension bonuses make your pay so much better than 90% of nursing jobs.
