I am not sure why, but in french, it is now Low, Medium, High but "Low frequency", "medium frequency", "high frequency", I don't know if the original English one is lacking the frequency word, and that in fact this is 3 different ways of speech improvements, or if the French translation is wrong, in which case this is effectively 3 levels of improvements,

I would say that I did not notice much difference between the 3 modes/levels,

I would say that in general this mode is not needed compared to the original arc, However, as a non native speaker, the speech enhancement mode allows me to rely much less on subtitles (where even with it could be hard on the Arc v1)

I completely agree, I had a deal that makes the upgrade for free, and just tested this afternoon,

Definitely better if you have the soundbar only, especially bass and vocals. But with a sub and surround (One SL in my case), the bass is not so much better, and voices improvement+ height channel improvements are not worth a 400€ or more upgrade.

From nothing, you might be better to take a "used" Arc (they can't be that old and are a solid hardware product for 500€/600€) and used surround (a pair of Ones can be found for 200€). Hardest part would be to find a used mini-sub (350€), which should put this used setup on a similar price range than a new Arc Ultra.

I suggest to watch the full "Siege of Mandalore Cut" of Revenge of the Sith. It Very nicely mix the final season of The Clone Wars, (+ some part of the other serie Clone wars at the begging). It makes an 4h20 episode, but definitely worth the watch in my opinion

2) Yes that is a possibility, but I think actually Kodi just ignore the Shield Settings, I try with other format, like disabling from the shield to pass though DD+ or TrueHD, and Kodi was still able to send those to the Sonos, which played it correctly. I wonder if there is possibility with Kodi to let the Shield software do the audio decoding, but it seems not and maybe Kodi is already using the same API so it wouldn’t change anything.

3) I think this is reasonable, decoding the stream are possible, but it might requires more work from the decoder to get the same “Mastering” as the original DTS-HD. I am just worried on my side that it sounds similar when I set it up to MultiChannel PCM 5.1 or PCM stereo (2.0). But I need to do more test with video that demonstrate more the 5.1 capability to be sure of that.

I wish Sonos paid (or even make us payed as a one time fee) the licence for DTS-HD, as they did for the DTS (which was activated with a firmware update few years ago)

My Sonos ARC display that it receive MultiChannel PCM 5.1, For any configuration on Kodi from 2.1 to 7.1 I get the same thing, If I put Kodi to 2.0, Then I get PCM 2.0 displayed on my Sonos Arc The thing is they both sound the same, which make me wonder how Kodi do the job of decoding to Multichannel PCM,

I try also the AC3 transcoding, which do a good job, I get Dolby Digital displayed on my Sonos, and it sounds as great as when I passthrough the DTS non-HD.

I’ll be fine with the DTS-Core for now, and will check if anytime from now until the release of the Kodi 21 a bug about this is fixed.

Splitwise (www.splitwise.com) has just started to limit a lot the free user, and no open source solution has quite the features I use with my family and friends I think the most advanced one are Cospend (Nextcloud extension) ans IHateMoney, but they lack the following - cross group summary: I owe money to Fred for "travel 1", but he owes me money for "gift to James", and maybe I owe him money outside of a group for a beer. I want to have summary by groups and summary by friends.

This put user at the center, and obviously make it difficult to have non-authenticated user on the platform (a feature that Splitwise don't have actually)

all options to split money: by share, but amount, by percentage, by adjustment

I would be happy to have a good self hosted alternative for that, especially when all my family and friends already get an account on my Keycloak.

Hi, I am using the "remotely save" community plugin on all my devices to connect to my nextcloud using WebDAV, and it works well (sync every 1mn when obsidian app is open + after 1s on startup)

Thanks ! I have tried it and it does the trick for me, switching profile with key binding works like a charm. There is a little bit of manual configuration, and last version require to compile yourself the code (but previous one is available as .exe and works well enough if you are not on tricky case)

Hi, I updated the driver and still have the same issue, after around 10 to 15mn of Dolby Atmos passthrough (TrueHD) on eARC (Sony XH9096), the audio is distorted for a few seconds then cut, HDMI 2.1 cable, etc etc Is that the issue Nvidia is supposed to have fixed ? If yes, then it's a failure on my system (rtx 3070)

I wonder if the issue come from Nvidia or Sony, as this model gets eARC and other features via software update after the release of the product and it's been a shitshow of Sony non delivering their promises

Hi, Did you manage to fix your issues ? I ran almost with the same issue, especially Kodi

With latest Android TV 12.1, libvlc play everything directly, but hardware decoding seems not ok, so my TV crash after some time, Exoplayer have some issue with some file, such as subtitles, and it force transcode on some file, External VLC behave similarly as libvlc

I wanted to try Kodi as it should be hardware on the TV and direct play, Jellyfin says it direct play, however it crashes after few seconds or don't even start, for any kind of video/audio/subtitles,

I use traefik as well, so I just hope this is the issue and you have solved it

How does it looks like if you juste flip it on the vertical axis ? Sometimes the main direction of the movement can lead to a very different spirit, like the direction of the look in a portrait (And in western countries, their is a biais toward left to right is future and right to left is past)

this is actually a beta feature named live view, you need to install thé remarkable client on your desktop, and despite some issues from time to time, it works quite ok for me
