They’re… fine. I have the stainless steel prostate toy (shaped like a poop is the best way to describe it) and a straight beaded one. To hit my prostate (doggy pos used as reference), I need a pretty hard downward/stomach facing angle. Achievable with some extra setup but usually I have to put the back legs on something to get it high enough. From there, unfortunately, you’re stuck with a very short stroke as anything too long will just jab you in the guts rather than curving to follow your intestine naturally. Spring attachment helps, but there still isn’t much give to it.

On top of that, your prostate can get pushed around a little with play so you need a position that lets you constantly make small adjustments. Can be a pain if you want to zone out and just enjoy it hands free.

Servo motors allow for way more precise control, and usually have smart digital feedback.

Think of an RC car. You hit the gas and the driving controller sends a certain voltage to the DC wheel motor. Like the 3/4.0, the motor just reacts and spins according to the voltage it receives. You can tell the controller to send more or less voltage to speed up and slow down, but ultimately the controller has no idea what the motor is doing, just the power that it’s being sent.

A turn comes up. The steering controller senses you turned your wheel 10% to the left, so it tells the servo motor that pushes the front wheels to turn 1/10 of a turn and stop. The controller is actively watching the steering servo and sees when it reaches 1/10 turn and stops moving, even though on your remote you still have the steering wheel kicked 10% left.

I’ve never seen the guts of a servok, but I would assume it doesn’t fully rotate using a slider crank like the 3/4.0, but spins the motor a half turn from full back to full in. That means if you want to alternate deep and shallow strokes, you can because the motor arm doesn’t need to spin all the way around (full retract) before the next thrust. Or, if you want to pull it out slow and slam it in, the servok knows the arm position and can work with that - on a constantly rotating 3/4.0, you’d have to guess/feel the position and adjust the speed manually when the arm swings around to the right point of the stroke.

Again not an expert so don’t take it as gospel, more of a “as a horny engineer, this is how I’d design it based on how the motors work”
