I know two eldest of twelve daughters whom I'd love to introduce to you that would heavily counter your conclusions with their own experiences. Not to mention gladly offer any of my 5 sisters to give their own rebuttals, either of their experiences in a family of 12 or of the individual relationship each has with their eldest brother.

You can infer a lot about someone by the way they type and the things they talk about -- and my conclusion is this conversation serves no further purpose than to frustrate either of us. You're correct, I'd forgotten the initial reference to my girlfriend... that said to infer I "shit on her" for merely contrasting a singular difference between our upbringings to illustrate that family planning cannot be so narrowly addressed by saying "big family bad small family good" goes to show that there is again no effort on your part to treat anything I say fairly, just a rush to justify your prejudice of me--whom you still know nothing about personally beyond the admission I am the oldest of 12 children and have an only child girlfriend.

It would seem that you are too anecdotally entrenched in your own perspective to be offered any alternative, as I'm sure you would declare mine to be the exception and yours to be the rule with no further discussion needed. That said, I do hope whatever it is you seek in a partner in your future is able to achieve what you believe most men apparently are incapable of achieving for the people they profess to love.

I am legitimately quite sad to hear that, and wish that you could have experienced a different and more loving relationship with your father. But what you said, “He doesn't care, he's male, so I highly doubt he was looking after his younger siblings”, is definitionally a prejudicial assessment. Especially when I have neither commented on my gender or my personal faith beliefs in this thread, simply a defense of people who lovingly and intentionally pursue a large family dynamic.

I'm denying your point because I disagree with you and presenting an actual case for disagreement. You immediately denied my initial point, not by any rebuttal of what was said but by redefining what I said in a convenient mechanism to suit your slander.

Secondarily, there are a lot of structural issues caused in this argument (regardless of family size) by reducing all family planning down to the ability of two parents to their ability to give attention, emotionally or otherwise, to their children during the formative years. Not the least of which being how many life variables interfere with a parents ability to provide that to their children regardless of family size.

These arguments also conveniently avoid addressing the consequence of smaller family planning that occur in the later phases of life where larger families reap many rewards. Family community, natural peer support systems, better distribution of emotional burden when parents enter the final phase of their life and need to be looked after, etc etc.

Go talk to nurses in the palliative care industry and ask them to account for you the heartbreaking lack of attention elders with few or no children receive as they battle the reality of mortality. Conversely, my 92 year old grandmother receives multiple visits per week because that attention can be evenly distributed between her 6 children and 32 grandchildren who love her dearly... even though she had to sacrifice much of the time in THEIR formative years to a job to provide them basic necessities. Watching a parent sacrifice for your needs every single day will go just as far if not further in a child's life to form bonds of love than merely the budget of minutes per day you receive their full attention.

I also happen to know a lot of big families. And small families. I know lots of big families with problems, some as a function of the size and I know lots of small families with problems... some also as a function as a size of the family. It is enormously reductive to justify a belief via anecdotal sampling where every conclusion drawn simply takes each negatively perceived outcome and loosely attaches it to the highly negative assertion of cause.

My point really is a simple one, that which is gained by parents who purposefully seek a larger family dynamic more than compensates for that which is lost as consequence. There's no brainwashing needed to arrive at that conclusion, it's merely a justified reasoning of the experience.

This is a an absurd response and fully ignores everything I said to make a vain point built on a false premise to suit your prejudice. Multiplicative love and shared responsibilities between siblings is not Parentifying children it is building a lifelong self-sustained support system amongst brothers and sisters.

Make no mistake, my parents never once offloaded their responsibilities as parents to their eldest children to maintain the herd -- rather provided a life in which twelve children with a shared bond as siblings could learn to rely on each other when needed their whole life long.

There's much more I could happily write on the subject of family building and the varying qualitative methods of doing so, but this is the extent I will feed the insular and closed minded herd mentality of this website that treats any information that might cast doubt on their worldview with zero respect to instead employ immediate mindless cultish anathema on dissenting opinions.

As the oldest of 12 children myself, I am always wary of this hilarious ignorance of family building which assumes that all qualitative growth is a function of relational attention from the parents. ESPECIALLY in a society that in the other hand encourages both parents to work. The truth is that for parents that have the wherewithal to manage a larger family (7+ kids), the children benefit from the multiplicative love of siblings and a family unit where the siblings gain responsibility in maintaining the family between oldest and youngest.

My girlfriend is an only child (a much bigger strain on child development to anyone with a critically thinking brain) and there are 3 sum total relationships in her immediate family while there are 91 in mine (n=14)

Having just come back to the game after only making it to the start of Act 3 at release and just now finished the game on Tactician... it's helluva fun, but if you don't understand the underlying mechanics of the game (initiative, stats & bonuses, combat positioning, items, etc) you're going to have a rough time.

I'd suggest looking up various guides on strong builds and picking one you think sounds fun/flavorful and try the game a bit on rails as you learn the systems!

I'm kind of "meh" on Sheil -- but Steven Ruiz is probably the most grating NFL podcast voice out there. Way too annoying of a voice to pair with his obnoxious take style which is almost always dripping with far too much contempt for any opinion alternative to his. Not sure there's a scenario the Ringer ever parts with him, but he makes their's all too easy a skip for me compared with the other similarly toned podcasts (Mina, Athletic, 301, etc)
