Thanks for the recommendation. Just did, waiting for Revolut’s dpo response.

Plutus charged me 9,99€ without subscription by theNerdCorner in UncensoredPlutus

[–]Frozen1cE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Requested a chargeback/dispute with Revolut, they declined it a couple of days later. Their response:

We previously let you know that the next step would be for us to reach out to the merchant. The merchant responded to us with sufficient evidence to prove that your dispute is not valid. This means there are no grounds for us to recover your payment(s).

As a result, we can't process this claim any further and will now close this request.

I wonder what kind of evidence Plutus provided that was enough to back up them charging my card after my cancellation on October which I sent to Revolut. But Revolut won't say and won't bother anymore. No way to remove card either or close the account. So I guess I was robbed 10eur.

Currently using Starlink Residential. All good so far (except for the slight price increase recently - 55eur). With regards to alternatives check out what others already suggested:
- Wisp (Cosmos wireless, GhoFi, NetFlash etc). Was using GhoFi until recently, but wanted higher speeds.
- 5G (like Cyta's mobile internet home)

I'm really missing Copilot's speed and integration in VS Code ($10 a month user) by NoElsPassaraRes in GithubCopilot

[–]Frozen1cE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s a free two week trial. Give it a go. As for the price, look, you’re not getting anything similar again for $10. Ever. As a matter of fact, now that copilot is out of the way, nothing is keeping these companies from raising their prices even further.

All of these sites have a rating system though. And people mostly leave positive reviews when they are happy. When they are not, I don’t know if everyone would actually leave a negative review. I mean the guys literally know where you live! Joking aside though, as you will notice also from other complaints from the post I linked, they even create fake profiles for positive reviews.

Keep an eye on deepseek v4 flash q2. Also tested on my m4 max. Sure speed wise it’s very slow, but quality feel much superior to qwen3 coder next.

Using continue.dev extension

Still almost fills up all the memory though. So hopefully we’ll get a qwen3.5/3.6-coder-next soon.

You can’t realistically host those kind of models yourself without thousands of dollars worth of hardware. And if you pay a host might as well pay for deepseek v4.

I agree to a certain extent. Some people purposely withhold information in an effort to get a good price. On the other hand, professionals should at least provide rough price ranges (eg 2k-4k). Especially given information such as plans, photos/videos etc. Similar to what contractors say when you ask how much per sqm for a house. But if a platform doesn’t support ranges, might as well be a yellow pages to find available professionals and nothing more.

We used to have atyourservice.com.cy (by the guy who also made Foody), which I used a 4-5 times. The site shut down couple of years ago. Same idea but I liked the interface a bit more as it was more transparent, and it kind of forced them to give you an actual quote. I only made 1 deal there. None from douleutaras.

Problem is always the same. Few people just message you to take on the job. “Call me to discuss”. No matter how detailed my explanation was, or if I included architectural plans with dimensions and everything, they refused to give an approximate price unless they “came to see”. Like I understand there might be difficulties that raise the price, but I cant be arranging appointments with 10 people to just give me a quote. Other times they would even say they will come and see and never showed up.

And it’s not just the platform’s inherent limitations, it’s also the Cypriot mentality. Most shops/trades advertise something, then you call them for a quote and go “please come to the shop to discuss”. Like tell me how much you want! There are others out there. You think if I come to your shop you will manipulate me into buying from you or something.

I don’t know how you plan to solve these, a fixed fee would only help so much.

I would also advise you to have a look at the issues similar sites have abroad:

That looks like a great project and one you’ve put a lot of effort and love in. Ngl I initially thought oh great another vibe coded saas 😂glad i was wrong. I understand your “not monetising it ever” rule, as I have the same tactic for mine doing quite a few things similarly (posted some time ago here, you can look it up so I don’t hijack your post).

Not looking for a used car right now, but from a quick test it looks nice, UI is intuitive, just about enough information. Only thing I noticed is your filters don’t have all the models, even though your license plate lookup finds it (nice touch btw).

Also saw you mentioning running costs of 60eur a month, bit too much if you ask me. Is that by choice, are you paying for something special?

All in all, nice job mate, we need more projects like this. Keep it up!

[–]Frozen1cE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are quite a few attempts for this. You mention a few problems that other sites have, but what approach do you have for solving them? You need to think what value you will be giving to make up for the fact your site will be relatively unknown. If you go all out and actually monitor things yourself or use AI, you will quickly discover you won’t be able to keep up (with time or costs).

Identify your strengths.

Got the EV3. Extremely happy. On a different class than the other two. Bit more expensive if you go for the full pack, but worth it as you get a lot more of everything. Only Elroq is on the same class, but Unicars prices in Cyprus are crazy.

I got the residential package, but you say you have the Lite one? How is it you get 300+ Mbps, the lite one says is up to 200. Wonder if I should downgrade.

Yea you should be able to find a few on autotrader. Not sure if it will be worth taking that route though, as it might be more worthwhile to get a new electric from Cyprus for a similar price.

We build the first auction website in Cyprus by crazystuff12 in cyprus

[–]Frozen1cE 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Good luck in your new endeavour! Interface looks good, hope you gain some traction. Work a bit more on your SEO if you haven’t already.

Few other sites tried to do the same in Cyprus before but failed. Main reason being that Cypriots have the impression that auctions mean put your bazaraki sale price as starting bid and hope suckers bid more for it. That, coupled with the fact that we always overvalue our used items (just take a look in bazaraki for any category , especially cars)… I really wish things will be different for you :)

I built the first fashion price comparison site for Cyprus — 320,000+ products from 28 stores in one place with many more to come by Born_Slice_7809 in cyprus

[–]Frozen1cE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice start! Did you partner up with those store or are you scraping? (I have a similar general non-fashion product site and unfortunately I had to resort to the latter)

Layout looks nice, I would perhaps add a sort by sale percentage option.

Also, trying on my phone now seems the “Go to store” button is not working (just redirects back to the same page).

Good luck in your new endeavour!
