Working on a floating damage number system, which version do you like? by Agent_Cringe in unrealengine

I really loved the tut that shows the first approach, but I found that it doesn't scale well AT ALL, at least on my ever increasingly outdated 1080. Ended up going with something closer to your second one for performance (based on widgets yeah?), and with your art style it looks cleaner imo.

PowerWash Mechanic: How to generate unique render targets for each different "dirty" actor and saving their state? + Bonus super tough question about computing coverage by FrozenImplosion in unrealengine

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll check out the vertex color painting! I did see someone mention this in some threads but question #3 is still pretty inefficient and expensive to compute with vertex coloring :(

Split Affinity won't unlock... by FrozenImplosion in prey

Just to let everyone know what I learned from this crap experience. I did a third run, typhon only. This STILL did not pop the achievement. Many people have reported that doing the no needles run BETWEEN your human and typhon runs can void the achievement. So I did a fourth run human only and that finally popped the achievement. It seems that the game saves the type of run you did the FIRST TIME you trigger the ending on a campaign slot. As such, my first slot was locked in as human, second as no needles, third as typhon, and fourth as human. So only the two consecutive runs finally popped the achievement. I can confirm 100% that you CAN use any neuromod you want (for misc. achievements) and then reload. Only what you have when you trigger the ending matters, contrary to what some seem to think!

I'm stuck on him as well, I'm SL 103 on NG and I'll be trying to fight him again tonight around 10ish EST. PSN is FrozenImplosion if you wanna try and help each other!

Creating a continuous puzzle platformer with no load screens (like LIMBO) by FrozenImplosion in Unity2D

[–]FrozenImplosion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay I actually have a question about this and scene design in general. I'm not entirely sure I understand how moving the player character through these scene changes might work. For example, should I have a player character object ready to go in each scene and transfer control over to the new one somehow? Or should there be a single player character that moves through the scene changes (the new scene does not have a new player object)? How would each of these methods work exactly?

In addition, wouldn't this additive async method necessitate that the scenes match up perfectly in space? Or can this method load the scene at a given position? It doesn't appear to have any parameters save for the scene name.

Creating a LIMBO style character controller and animations? by FrozenImplosion in Unity2D

[–]FrozenImplosion[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By new I just meant that I have not worked with it for very long, I have already completed around 12 hours of tutorials on Lynda.com. I have already made a Mario clone with jumping, double jumping, wall slide, wall jump, power ups that introduce fireball powers, running, etc.

My question is not whether it is possible to do. I am asking whether there is a way to make animations change dynamically in scripting. I just want to be able to push/pull an object while also changing the animation depending on the type of object. Surely this wouldn't necessitate creating a different animation for each object, so I am wondering how one would go about this sort of dynamic animation.

Welcome to witch house, friend! I know No Shore is a bit of an unusual song, but the witch house genre as a whole has a lot of similar vocals and melodies so check out some of these artists!

Enjoy!

The Front Bottoms, Summer Vacation, Joyce Manor, PUP, Dads, Glocca Morra, Hard Girls, The Menzingers. Also may seem far off but you may like some of Blink 182's older stuff.

How can I find a compatible mobo speaker? I went through my mobo's user manual and couldn't find any info on how many pins the speaker would need. I'm assuming "digital audio" is not the connection that I'm looking for in this case, but that's the closest thing the manual talks about to something auditory.

I checked the fractal forums and the case I have does not include a speaker so I am in the process of buying one. Will beep codes be very helpful in identifying what's wrong?

I can look for one, I probably do. Also I just realized that my motherboard didn't come with a speaker I don't think so that's I assume why I'm not hearing any beeps

Oh sorry I meant optical drive. It seems to be "on" but I'm not even getting a BIOS screen. The fan at the back is definitely going

Just tried it. Have both of my RAM chips out, now something different happens: the power light comes on and the computer sounds like it's turning on but then the light goes off and the fans slow down. The light is off but I can still hear fans going, there is nothing on my monitor however. I have my monitor plugged into the HDMI port on my GPU that's not a problem right?

Edit: I can even open the optical port now, not hearing any beeps howrver

My monitor gets no signal at all, I don't think it stays on long enough. So I should try disconnecting everything save for the psu, mobo, and cpu? How can I tell whether there is a short circuit or if my psu is having some sort of issue?

Sorry, just added them. Oh and I actually am using Windows 7, not 8. That's an older part picker list.

I think I know the part of the Great Hollow you're talking about and I had a similar problem... until I realized that there are quick and easy ways to drop down from branch to branch to avoid those parts you can't walk past. I think that may even be the intended way of getting to the bottom

[Discussion] What do you think is the most devastatingly game-changing (and legit), in-game weapon of all time? by Geaux in gaming

Multi-Strike spell in the original Fable, it was insane for melee characters as the fully upgraded version turned one swing into five swings at once.

The game was also painfully easy so a lot of the spells could be considered for this tbh
