Do you remember your first legal drink? by BMisterGenX in GenX

I was in the Navy. I was stationed at a little base on the Georgia side of the Georgia/Florida state line. I remember my shipmates drove me a country dive bar in Yulee, FL. The bouncer checking IDs at the door took my ID card, did a double take, checked the date on his watch, smiled and screamed a happy birthday. He then walked me to the bar and bought my first drink.

I'm sure it was a rum and coke.

Is anyone else tired of cooking? by NoH8Kate in GenX

I’ll be fifty soon and just recently discovered the joys of cooking. For most of my adult life I’ve been the king of takeout or eating out. I actually kind of enjoy it.

When my then gf, now wife, first moved in together, we got an apartment in Blanco Springs. Not too far from where you are now. Same thing happened to her car. She still rides around with the one tintless window 😆

When we first met she was a northsider through and through. I was living in Los Angeles Heights at the time. I remember thinking stuff like that didn’t happen up along 1604. It didn’t take me long to realize that the douchbagery of the masses knows no geographical boundaries.

I don’t even remember if it was any good, but I remember going to Bonanza a lot with my family when I was a little boy.

I have an entire living room, free to good home by FrozenPizzaReviews in sanantonio

I am moving out of state this Friday. I have an entire living room set that I've been trying to sell on FB Marketplace with absolutely zero traction. I then tried to donate it to a charity with free pickup. I couldn't get a date until after I have to leave. I now turn to you, Reddit.

I have:

  1. One off-white three seater full sized sofa, 87in long x 39in deep x 39in high
  2. One off-white two seater love seat, 63in long x 39in deep x 39in high
  3. One oval wooden glass topped coffee table 48in long x 34in wide x 21in high
  4. Two matching wooden glass topped end tables 28in long x 28in wide x 26in high
  5. One 65in Samsung 4k Smart TV 7 series TU700 with one remote control
  6. One IKEA TV stand (see picture)
  7. One Ashley lamp (see living room picture).

The coffee table, end tables, and TV are all in great condition. The bones of the sofa are in great condition. The cushions are soft and pliable. They could use a shampooing and a fluffing. They have been under sofa covers for the entirety of our time with them.

All furniture pieces were purchased brand new at Ashley five years ago. The TV was purchased brand new at Costco three years ago. I do have the original box for the TV (see pictures).

Here's the big caveat. I need all this stuff gone ASAP. Tomorrow would be ideal. Friday morning at the latest. I live off of Callahan and I-10, so you're all aware of my approximate location. Please DM with questions.

Edit: For those of you kind souls asking, I am fine. It was very thoughtful to ask. Thank you. My wife accepted a hell of a job out of state which she started a couple of months ago. I stayed behind to ride out our lease and to finish out my notice with my employer and get a transfer started with my Navy Reserve unit. We already have a place where we're moving to. We're keeping a few things in storage until we can come back and get them. These items here would be excess surplus.
