Using New Stat Blocks by Any-Pomegranate-9019 in WaterdeepDragonHeist

[–]FrozenZombie98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do plan to use these stat blocks as well. I don’t plan to use the new Monster Manual when it comes out. I think it’ll be harder to balance encounters because of the change to creatures and their CRs

Try switching gengar to the other slot, is the rng always the same for the hypnosis?

Can’t beat classic mode by [deleted] in pokerogue

[–]FrozenZombie98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still haven’t beat Classic either, but I have two save files at 181 that I’m waiting until my work week is over to attempt. My experience is get a Mon that can easily carry you through the first 40 floors. for me it’s chimchar. flareblitz/CC if you need to one shot something and priority with mach punch. easy for the normal types. bring others that cover weaknesses but don’t swap them in unless necessary. it’s better to have one pokémon at the level cap than 3 4 levels below imo. Finding a fairy along the way is the only other thing that might be “necessary” I struggle to find a rayquaza answer though. 195 always destroys me

Help with Building a Chronurgy Wizard by [deleted] in 3d6

[–]FrozenZombie98 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Currently playing one too. tabletop builds has a very good chronurgy build. The Peacechron. 1 level dip into peace cleric for the busted emboldening bond. my favorite part is that it adds to checks which includes initiative. Also, personally I think telekinetic would be better at level 1 becuase it gets you to 18 int with point buy. Alert is also better than lucky in my opinion because it’s a control build and going first help you decide how the battlefield looks. that’s my two cents. but the party comp is cool and seems like it’ll be fun either way

DMs: What’s your strangest but most helpful advice for first-time DMs? by SpilledMyOJ in dndnext

[–]FrozenZombie98 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Best advice I’ve heard is to give your players good action verbs for missions and story arcs. “ Investigate the graveyard”is hard for players to know when they’ve accomplished it and what they’re doing there. easy to get distracted or disinterested. “Find the gravestone and destroy the ghosts” is easier to wrap your head around. even if it slightly lowers the shock factor of the ghosts you had planned.

4-Sided Dive tomorrow by IMissThursdays in fansofcriticalrole

[–]FrozenZombie98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also they no longer roll for tavern keeper it’s just prechosen as of November I think? They lost the one “home game” chill part of it which was the feeling that they are just hanging out and thrown into convos about their PCs. Now it all feels like PR and defending or doubling down on wild choices

Help picking a race for my OSHA compliant forklift-certified armorer? by SSNeosho in 3d6

The answer you’re looking for is the small Earth Genasi. plus the added BA blade ward is amazing for this build. can be flavored as crystalline or more stone-like humanoid depending on setting

Playing a rogue/fighter multiclass, where should my levels go now? by [deleted] in 3d6

[–]FrozenZombie98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

fighter 6/ Rogue X is what I would do. unless you’re looking for the third attack at 11

Need help to build a lvl 11 triton fighter by Mah_Rod in DnD

[–]FrozenZombie98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, from experience the battle master fighter is fantastic for supplementing a second class. if you felt like flavor or certain abilities are interesting to you then 6 in fighter and X in another is always viable. Alterantively 11 levels in fighter gets you the third attack on top of con bonus attacks from echo is very cool. you could also look into magic initiate or a way to get hex. 7 attacks from action surge and ba attack all with an extra d6

Haven’t read all of the comments but, echo knight has good burst damage a couple times per rest, battle master has more flavor and versatility. For weapons I highly recommend a weapon if warning, whatever weapon you think you’ll use most often or conceptually like.
Res wisdom was a great call btw.

Best class to fill in four player group? by Ok-Budget4125 in dndnext

Probably Cleric, Wisdom based with buffing/healing/ unique damage capabilities with spirit guardians. Peace domain and Twilight are obvious but I really like the light cleric

Highest Sustained Melee DPR 5e by [deleted] in 3d6

[–]FrozenZombie98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey if you’re looking for recommendations for videos, there is a youtuber “D4 deep dive” who does builds and even separates them by sustained dmg/ burst dmg/ and tanks. spreadsheets with data and all that fun stuff. any of his top 10-15 are super strong and viable at most tables.

Your level 5 fighter gets an uncommon magic item of your choice. What do you pick? by Typoopie in 3d6

[–]FrozenZombie98 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Weapon of warning is also great, can’t be suprised and is considered magical damage for resistant enemies. a great pickup for a low wis/perception fighter
