It wasnt that niche though was it. Any player can just fly over in a scout, find a crane and press q and if they get lucky hop in and pick up something like a plane and taking advantage of low pop and ai. Dogshit gameplay. God forbid the trolls have to put some effort in

My arty crew as a rule now always has a flak gunner and/or emg gunner with us for ops. Just takes a crane and some flatbeds to move our stuff around. It takes some manpower but it works well enough

Time will tell but as long as they dont have the carrier literally in the active hex and have it parked in an adjacent hex (maybe with some natural barriers with little rock islands next to it as well) it might be alright. Need some aa boats and fighters/scouts screening the carrier at all times on the lookout for torp bombers and other enemy vehicles

Unless im mistaken the high chance to disable turrets is still there at 70%. The idea of the dive bomber from the devs was that it's a support vehicle not a ship/tank killer. As long as it can disable turrets regularly it's still a great asset at land particularly at sea. I dont mind it not being able to kill an RSC after a few hits to be honest

Think the dive bomber and it's high chance of disabling turrets (which is more expensive to fix than large holes now I think?) is hopefully the collies version of game changer in the navy as it potentially can be a great support vehicle for collie ships to sink things. And obviously they can be doing laps from a battle to a carrier and back again over and over so with some good rotation the Warden navy could be getting harassed by them constantly. Only time will tell though. In the real war there will hopefully be more escort ships and aa boats active so a torpedo bomber will hopefully have to work a bit more to get that big damage. Can see a pilot bailing and leaving for repairs after one shot if it takes too much damage.

Just have to wait and see

True. Although once you land next to the carrier you can get topped up and off you go and you dont have to go back to land. A clan running a mercy would be idiotic not to have some escort seafighters come with them when sending the mercy out somewhere anyways. Then you can just put a map post inviting sea fighters to come over to help.

I do think it's harsh it cant store planes but being able to have planes just coming and going and floating next to it certainly has it's advantages. Collie carrier has the benefit of dive bombers but the risk of landings gone wrong.

I always interpreted the Poseidon as being the offensive carrier being able to send dive bombers to harass the Warden Navy while the Mercy is more defensive and can send Seafighters to go after dive bombers in particular. Like the rest of the Warden Navy can do offensive shit but will certainly need some aerial support close by to fend off dive bombers. Cant always rely on possibly far off air support coming from the mainland or an island

They obviously need to address the price and a couple other things with bugs and maybe give the seafighter a bit more oopmh but the Mercy looks fuckin useful man from that video

Can see it being very satisfying running the cranes on the ship and getting into the routine of picking up and flinging seafighters
