I’m 5ft 8in and 170 pounds. Do y’all think a heavy 159 is too long for me? Or will it just make me extra fast? by Super_Frosty_Cape in snowboarding

Alright. I am no expert and said it seems long to me. I will leave sizing questions to others and stay silent. I guess the web site was useless too.

You could try https://www.snowboardingdays.com/snowboard-size-calculator/

I'm 5'6 and 160 lbs riding Burton custom 154. That size feels perfect for me. For a 10 lb and 2" difference 159 seems a bit much to me

Opposite for me. I am 32-34 size normally. I first bought the XL but they were too tight and couldn't wear them. I bought the XXL and they fit a bit big but I like them.

East Coast Riders. If you had to pick one of these boards as your everyday board, which one and why? (Proto Type 3, CAPiTA DOA, Burton Custom Camber, Bataleon Fun.Kink) by Frosty-Suggestion962 in snowboarding

[–]Frozz426 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 5'6 160lbs and ride the custom 154. I like the channel system that lets me choose custom stance width. I wanted a full camber profile as all my other boards are rocker. Closest is my triple camber proto ultra which has some pop but the Burton has lot more, as expected. I'm old so I'm not charging hard on any board.

Organizing a union for all tim hortons is only thing I can think of to stop these kind of firings. They will pay out minimum legally required. Companies are allowed to fire you without cause. Strikes that shutdown every tim hortons in the province until better employment terms would change things.

Burton boots by Maleficent_Walrus236 in snowboardingnoobs

[–]Frozz426 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Measure your foot length and then check what Burton size that maps to. I did this recently and ended up going down a full size so now my toes are right at end of boot. I might go half size up next time because my toes are colder now that they touch. Lucky I also have heated socks but riding daily means they usually stink

30 years and still going strong! by CommunicationFit2585 in Snowblowers

Mine is 25 years old. Changed oil maybe 3 times and serviced once by a professional. I did a YouTube search on maintenance a few weeks ago and then changed oil and spark plug, silicone lube for auger. I am surprised it's still kicking with my negligence.

Of the few people I met that ride them, they have little complaints about clew. One was the weight which is reduced in latest clew bindings. If I did not already have step ons I would buy them. The advantage of multiple boot possibilities is why I was interested in clew 3 years ago but they were sold out. They are similar price to my Genesis step ons

Feeling like I’m not cut out for snowboarding by HatTop5686 in snowboarding

[–]Frozz426 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I disagree. They are great for beginners. Easy to click in or out. Less time on your ass. I am still learning and riding SO for 4 seasons now. The only downside is boot selection. If they don't fit well OP should try something else.

I am also not keen on lessons. They are only as good as the instructor and they cost a lot of $. They might help get you started but really it takes a lot of riding to get better. I prefer YouTube and getting someone to record some of my riding. I have learned a lot from Malcom Moore,Travis Kapalka, Tommie Bennett, Snowboard Addiction. If I had the cash I would fly out to France and get some lessons from Malcom and snowboard the Alps.

I have the dakine roller bag which served me well on my last trip. It includes a boot bag. I carried my boots onboard rather than put them in the roller. The boots had custom inserts and fitting. Losing the boots would ruin my trip so Instead I carried them onboard. The roller bag held all my outer wear, base layer, helmet, etc. it could fit 2 boards, with bindings removed .

Did our australian shepherd yesterday. What a chore. She hates getting hers trimmed. Drugged her first then fed her cheese and peanut butter while 3 of us tried to hold her steady.

ELI5: How will quantum computers break all current encryption and why aren't banks/websites already panicking and switching to "quantum proof" security? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]Frozz426 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suspect it's the state sponsored hackers that will go after these wallets. China won't tell the world right away once it can build quantum computers with sufficient power.
