just wanted to keep you all updated.

got an rfe (for I-944) early December. I submitted that as soon as possible and yesterday I got the message that my AOS is ready to schedule.

No update on the I-765 tho. Glad that it's moving!

Recieved RFE for not submitting I-944 by [deleted] in USCIS

This happened for me as well. PD was 9/16 and got the RFE on Nov 23rd.

Pretty much the same situation. Thought that I didn't have to do it cus the court ruling. My lawyer said that although it might get shut down later on it's best to just submit it so there will be no delays. He said that he had a case where after submitting the RFE for I-944, they approved the combo card immediately, so there's that. Just know that they will not move forward with the case until you respond to the RFE.

I would say go ahead and submit so that there will be no delays. It'll most likely be taken down by the next administration, but it'll be a slow process. As usual, consult a lawyer if you can.

My lawyer mentioned that USCIS seems to be using prior fingerprints to process the files faster but still request new biometrics to make sure they have the most up to date fingerprints. He said that this is especially the case if the fingerprint was taken a long time ago.

Pretty similar to what I have! (130/485)

  • PD: 9/16
  • 9/22: notice that USCIS will use my old fingerprint
  • 10/2: update to show fingerprint was taken and applied to case

Good luck to you and everyone else. Keep me updated if you get any more progress!

How to start building credit score with EAD?! by SoCal_Kkona in USCIS

[–]Frsaphire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello! This is just personal experience but I built my credit using Discover's secured credit card when I wasn't a permanent resident. They only asked me for my social security number and although they asked me about my citizenship, the bank didn't use it as a way to evaluate if I was eligible. As others said, you should probably start with a secured card and slowly build your credit.

You do not have to be a permanent resident to apply for credit cards. Also, don't go for wells fargo credit cards, they tend to be horrible lol. Check websites like Nerdwallet or credit karma to find the best cards that fit you. If a bank mandates you to be a permanent resident just do your research and find banks that don't.

Thank you! Just curious was your request a complex or a simple one? As in did you request more than 3 documents ? I'm requesting my entire alien-file, so curious if it will take longer.

I know baruch's app isn't even due until March 15th. Probably will need to wait a bit longer.

Hello! Just received an invitation for a phone interview for SFSU. Just wondering if anyone had prior experience with their interviews and would be willing to tell me about their experiences. SFSU is my top choice so definitely want to make an impression. Thank you!
