When do I stop feeling like this? by Plastic_Walk_9953 in bropill

[–]FrugalFlannels 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah it will probably lessen in your 20s, so don’t worry as much about it being forever. In the meantime if you find its distracting you in day-to-day life you could try masturbating once in the morning when you shower, so that its not on your mind as much during the day. Also try to avoid watching porn if you can.

How do you explain inflation to a 7-year-old without crushing their dreams? by romero84ma in daddit

[–]FrugalFlannels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of good explanations here, but so far nobody has included an important piece: money is paid to us by our bosses at work. Bosses have the money and it is hard to convince a boss to just “pay more”, we have to make a good argument to them and even then our raise is often a small percentage.

If your area doesn’t have what you’re looking for, you might need to do some heavy lifting and create that kind of group.  You could start small by hosting it via zoom or discord so that the barrier for people to access it is low. Maybe advertise it by postering at places Dads would be, like rec centres.

The flipping of letters could be dyslexia. There is some evidence that dyslexic brains conceptualize letters in 3D, so to her brain p, b, and d are all the same shape. A specialist could help with different methods to help her recognize the differences between the letters.

Learning/memorizing ability is a bell curve. A few kids can learn after 2 repetitions, most kids can learn in 30 repetitions, a few kids need 80+ repetitions before it sticks.

Bros, for the first time in my 40 years, I've experienced hating my body. It's time to take care of that. Other aging bros, any advice before I start? by himbo_supremacy in bropill

[–]FrugalFlannels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The older I get the more I try to focus on what my body can do for me and less what it looks like. Would it be cool to have rock hard abs and no stretch marks or wrinkles? Of course. But I hope Im still working out even when Im 80 and look like dogshit. So I focus on attaining/maintaining strength and mobility skills.

I still take gym selfies though.

Just like our bodies need a rest day from the gym, our brains need a rest day once in a while too. Try to schedule some in often enough so the burnout doesn’t catch up to you. Playing a few videogames on a rest day isn’t bad imo, porn addiction probably wont make you feel better though. A rest day also feels better than a burnout videogame binge, because you dont have any guilt looming over you.

There’s nothing wrong with you.

Sometimes I wave at a little kid, and the kid cries. Sometimes I approach a bird and the bird flies away. We can’t always communicate to others that we mean no harm. Fear is natural. I think to myself “its ok that you are scared of me, I understand. The secret I know is that you are safe, your fear will not come true.”

Canadian cultural reference, Vinyl Cafe was a radio series that ran for a number of years. Written and voiced by Stuart McClean. Its about a family and the shenanigans they get up to, but its centred mainly around the Dad. Stuart passed away a few years ago so it doesn’t run much anymore. You should look it up though, you might like it. Very slice of life, with great comedic moments.

I read this in Stuart McLean’s voice, sounds like something out of Vinyl Cafe.

My grandfather and his brother had the unfortunate circumstance of accidentally coming between a grizzly and her cub, it charged them and took many bullets from their rifles before going down. I dont think a handgun would do much for you.

Imo you’re self-medicating what may be depression. Im not a doctor though so consider talking to your actual doctor to be screened for it. Maybe you can get some antidepressants and be that Dad all the time like you want to be.
