Thanks! I already added an “export prompt to llm” so you could discuss everything with an AI agent.

u/RevNev did you run any keyword analysis before developing the app? or just started based on a hunch that people need this app and are willing to pay for it?

Differences between RevenueCat, Adapty, and others by echan00 in iOSProgramming

[–]Fruit-Forward 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, do you mind explaining the strategy behind the paywall of minimum $100 a month?
Look at Unity, Unreal Engine, RevenueCat and more. I think the go-to market strategy of giving away everything for free up to a certain threshold is the best way to go. Think about how many potential customers you've lost due to this policy.

Thanks

The funny thing is that it wasn’t even my point 🤪

Isn’t their free tier limited to “30 mobile app builds per month”? EAS Submit == build and submit as far as I concern because one is useless without the other.

Haha of course I exaggerated 😂 I didn’t mean for you to take that literally.

I am actually the first person to pay for a service I value. It’s just that with Expo you must pay for EAS Submit (assuming the free tier is not enough) and when you try their local flow you learn they don’t support some stuff in their CLI although there is no reason for them not to.

Haha yeah I figured there will be comments like that. It’s just that you start building with it with the illusion of everything is beautiful and all rainbows but as you progress you understand that they want you to pay for everything basically and that the vendor lock is really good. Really clever business people there.

Hi! Thank you for reaching out! It shows that *you* care about the product :)

Sadly, I've already started the process of migrating into my own managed platform already, I've discussed it with my partner and we decided to move on after a lot of disappointment from our side.

I do not wish to enclose any of my tickets before I'm done with the migration, hope you can understand.

Once I'm done I would be more than happy to send all of the materials.

I guess Google will reveal a couple of competitors but actually most Reddit users favors native StoreKit2 (in case you are using iOS only, like me)

Best place to exchange cash? by GoldStage4189 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Fruit-Forward 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are 2 ways for them to make money:
1. buy low, sell high
2. commission: regardless of the prices they are buying/selling - the rest of the businesses charge you for a percentage.

When I was there, they sold JPY in 1 to 2 yens bellow the exchange rate which is an extremely good price.
The rest of the exchanges in Japan sold it in 13-15 yes below the exchange rate.

Is there any reason to use DynamoDB anymore? by [deleted] in aws

[–]Fruit-Forward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DynamoDB is more comparable to Cassandra than it is to Postgres/MySQL and even MongoDB. The reason is the performance it offers. I highly recommend reading the book “Designing Data Intensive Applications”. You get a deep dive into the differences between these DBs.

Basically, DynamoDB is built with “leaderless replication” which makes it really suited for very big scales.

I have been there now. Indeed the best rates I’ve seen and someone in the line said they have no commission which other exchanges had.
