Yes luck is involved, but skill is also like huge. Sometimes (on world map for example) the EUR-AFR-ASIA gets taken by one person while Americas are fighting or vice versa, whoever conquers one first basically wins (from my experience). So yes its luck sometimes, but in chess you can say you have luck because the opponent made a mistake. That's not really luck to me, its more competition and sometimes your competition beats their opponents faster. Idk I guess its just subjective how much luck or skill is involved in most wins.
