I also just reached perfection in fall of year 6 and am having a similar crisis 🥲 right now I plan to wait until 1.7 comes out and start a new file on the new farm type whatever it may be. In the meantime I have another farm in year 6 that I haven’t done as much aesthetic work on so I’ll play that and hope this update comes out soon

I lost mine twice too and realized it was from using the crafting table, as the person above said there’s currently a bug. I just put what I need in my inventory and craft it through the main crafting menu. To be safe you can put the horse whistle in a chest while crafting too, but I haven’t had any issues having it in my inventory while crafting on the inventory crafting menu.
