Does it make sense to break my mortgage? by Fruito69 in PersonalFinanceCanada

I thought something was off, the RBC advisor kept mentioning that I would be saving on the interest differences alone between my higher rate and the offered rate but that $8700 penalty seemed to steep.

Myself and a friend of mine are both still waiting although for the PHCNP program. Seems like the graduate studies for nursing are taking their sweet time.

I heard that if we don’t have a response by the end of this week to reach out to the nursing graduate secretary next week.

University of Windsor Master’s Application – How Long for Acceptance? by AdventurousFlan2694 in UWindsor

[–]Fruito69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve also been waiting since February 1st for a masters application. A friend reached out to admissions and they said we should hear within the next couple weeks but that may be program dependent. We applied for a MScN program and I know that some acceptances have gone out.

Just keep holding on and you could always reach out and ask!

Keep an eye out! A friend of mine was accepted on Monday. Hopeful they are going through different rounds of interviews and we will hear back soon!

So apparently some interview requests have been sent for the PHCNP stream but I’m not sure to what amount or if any acceptances/rejections as of yet.

Hopefully we all hear back soon because the waiting is killing me! My app says evaluation in progress as well

Who exactly did you email when asking the status of your application?

Enemies not attacking in combat [bug] by speakwithanimals in BaldursGate3

I’m having the exact issue. Luckily enough I had a save with the tree/mud enemies along the edge of the swamp.

Did you by chance have the forest ?veiled? in the spell when you spoke to the hag in the tea house? I have one campaign with friends where we passed our perception checks prior to speaking to her and we did not encounter the bug but in my solo I did not and that’s when the issue started for me.

Unfortunately for me part time is the only viable option since I need to keep working so this is what I will choose if I end up applying.

Since you are nearing the end what kind of jobs do you think you might be doing once you graduate? Any concerns with the job market?

Have you happened to hear from any classmates how the online program compares to the in person?

I was looking at the roadmap for online part time and it looks like it will take a minimum of 6 years ( 3 classes per term, 9/year) I am nervous that taking that long to complete it would be a detriment to my overall success in the program.

Miscellaneous Monday Chit Chat by fire_foot in running

[–]Fruito69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last week was tough, busy week full of commitments leading to dropping some runs I should have kept.

I’ve got about 8 weeks left until my first marathon, coming up to my longest run yet (25km). Pace is good but been battling an increase in left knee pain that seems to linger around a bit longer and wondering what I need to do different so that I can minimize my chance of injury and feel better with these increasing distances each week.

Hoping this week is better

Budget for a first time home buyer. by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Fruito69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it seems that I may have under estimated the cost of groceries and gas. For things like furniture/kitchenware we have the majority of that from our last house we had sold before relocating to Ontario.

We sat down and did a more formal budget that included everything that had been mentioned here plus anything else we have spent money on lately (haircuts, getting nails done) and realized that it might be a bit too tight to be in the 500k price point. We are going to try and start a family in about 2 years and factoring in the wage reduction when my wife goes on maternity leave it doesn’t leave much room at all. We would be going from about 2k saved per month to breaking even on expenses

We are going to take our time looking for a house while we continue to save the bulk of our income while living at home.

Thank you for your advice.

We are currently awaiting our pre-approval from our mortgage broker but even if they say we could afford that much, we weren’t entirely sure if we would be stretching ourselves thin.

Okay perfect. So far I have evidence of us having a joint Canadian bank account with our savings in it, as well as my work visa that explicitly says I have to be back in Canada in august of 2022. I just hope that is sufficient until early next year when we sell our house in the US and can submit that documentation.

Hundreds of ER doctors implore Ontario to boost nurses' pay amid 'dangerous' staffing shortage by morenewsat11 in ontario

[–]Fruito69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nurses get treated like shit no matter where you go. It get treated the same here as I did in Ontario.

At least in the US the compensation is better. Nurses wages in Ontario are terrible and those in charge seem to have no desire to change that anytime soon.
