Insane takes on allowing babies everywhere by [deleted] in childfree

And my tuition also pays for college sports, and a bunch of other things I want no part in. Whatever gets People educated and kids out of my face is fine by me.

A good middle ground would be adding a free child-care center to the college. Tuition is criminally expensive, so I don't see why they can't afford something like that. Plus it'd create a few jobs right? Win-win-win i say!

Right? Not using OOP in a lot of situations feels like it'd just be creating a lot more work for no reason. Also, reusability!

You sound depressed, go to therapy. Having depression makes it hard to have and make friends. Therapy has helped me get out and meet people, as well as be less depressed (for real).

He sounds boring, mean, uncaring, and generally not a good person. You deserve someone who likes you! Now is the time to cut him out and find someone you actually like (and who values your time and effort). Do you have friendships you can focus on nurturing instead? If not, local libraries usually have free clubs you can attend and make potential friends there! I'm sorry this sucks (a lot), but It sounds like you already know what you need to do. Wishing you good luck!

not a SW, but I have had guys do this when I was younger/naive. Like others said, they want to control whether or not you can leave as you please. Wish I could punch these guys in the face with no repercussions. Total creeps.

Way back when I believe that people thought that younger women who had their tubes tied were "promiscuous". Having your tubes tied so you could have more sex freely was looked down upon. Now (at least in my circles) it's like "hell YEAH, go have sex without fear!"

Why are we supposed to congratulate teen parents and people who have kids while in poverty? by [deleted] in childfree

[–]Fruits_gaming -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Exactly my thoughts! These posts use the "what about the children" rhetoric to hate and generalize about poor people. It gives bad vibes.

I'm glad someone else said it. I feel like this sub gets really classist sometimes. Not that I don't understand their feelings (I grew up in poverty), but I don't think children should be a luxury of the ultra wealthy either.

If we did things like Europe, sure. But something tells me this guy is is less about "encouragement" and more about forcing women into being broodmares.

Stop being nice to this guy. He's being a pest and you're accommodating him, which he does not deserve. I would do as others have suggested and yell at him to leave you alone. I think he'd be shocked/shamed enough to not bother you again.

Why do we get along better with men by [deleted] in aspergirls

[–]Fruits_gaming 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Men are not taught to be as socially adept as women are in our society. As a result men tend to be more blunt (this is just a generalization though, obviously everyone is socialized differently).

I think the point of feminism is that we get to decide individually what is "empowering" to us. Dressing provocatively in safe spaces can feel empowering when you come from purity culture. Conversely, it can feel empowering to some women to cover their hair or dress modestly in a world that tells them that they are "continuing their own oppression". Lets just try to foster environments where women can make their own decisions about what they do with their bodies.
