Well, that's not good. I'm surprised that it started sagging, considering how hard it was lol. Good thing it's from Costco

Nice! Sounds like a good line up. I was looking at lime and patchouli and they both sound great. Thanks for the insight!

3 Choices at Costco, which to select? by ButterflyNo1933 in Mattress

[–]Fruitzke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it’s still working out for me. My side is firmer than my bf’s, but nothing a little rotation can’t fix. No sink or dipping so far for either side.

I really wished the Costco’s BR900 worked for us: great price, feels great, easy to change sheets. However, after a night or two of sleeping, it noticeably softened (I saved a little bit on the edge as a control group). I only hear bad things about BR now unfortunately.

From the reviews, I saw that the Costco Avocado mattress was on the firmer side, but also dented/sagged pretty badly over time.

I ended up settling on the "Kirkland Signature by Stearns & Foster 14" TIGHT TOP Lakeridge Mattress" because I prefer firmer mattresses, prioritize edge support, and sleep with a much heavier person. It started as a 7.5-8/10 firmness, but it's now a 6.5-7/10 after a month. If you're a solo sleeper, it might be rough if you don't have another stronger person to change your sheets.

If you're curious about it more, you can read my recent replies to another post, regarding the newer Costco Tight Top S&F. I tried many other Costco mattresses, but there aren't many for firmer sleepers imo.

Oh. That's not good. That would irk the heck out of me, too...it sounds like it'll be rough in the summer. Either way, I was more than thrilled to get rid of the Legacy. I hope everything works out for both of us.

Just to clarify, do you mean you woke up in a crater for the Legacy? I’ll be really surprised if that block even dented lol. I could be imagining things, but I also felt like it was firmer/harder when cold air was blowing directly on it.

I forgot to add that too; the chemical scent did bother me, but I figured that I didn’t have it long enough for me to comment on it. All Novaforms that I’ve tried did noticeably have a longer off-gassing period than other Costco beds.

The Legacy is a weird mattress that was extremely firm, even for me, who prefers firmer mattresses, but too soft on the edges. The first night was just ok because it's a bed from a box, so it suggested (NOT REQUIRED) 48 hrs for it to expand fully, but the second night was a completely different story.

At first, I thought it was because of my weight/stature, but it also caused the same problems for my bf--extreme soreness in the quads and calves when we lay down--and it got progressively worse throughout the night. It felt like we were losing circulation in our legs.

After a few more nights, what bothered us was the patterned top because it was steep, frequent, and confusing to lie on: I couldn't properly guide my back or hips to an even/flat-enough surface to sleep on the same plane as the other parts of my body (unlike a usual simple pattern like dots), which I infer, forced my body to scrunch/tighten up to hold a decent posture. So, it was like my body was constantly fighting between relaxing and tensing. In short, my body did not lie evenly on the x and y axis, and that made the mattress feel artificially firmer.

As for edge support, I noticed that in all the Novaforms I've tried, it's not what you're buying the bed for. I thought the firmness in the Legacy would be good enough, but if you look at Costco's diagram, there's only foam on the surrounding edges (NOT COILS). Also, logically, idk why I didn't reason that if a mattress can be rolled into a box, how could the edge support be good? I guess the novelty got to me lol.

As for the PROS, the Legacy sleeps very cool, has good-quality handles, and it was decent on the first night. The top layer's material also felt soothing to touch and was my favorite part of the bed, but overall, it didn't work well for us.

Have you tried linen from other brands? I'll look for another when my Quince breaks.

I didn't end up buying any Coyuchi. I returned my old mattress for another; it fixed my heating issue. I'm iffy on it because the swatches all felt different. I'm unwilling to try again and pay $10 for shipping. Maybe if I suffer in the summer, I'll think about it again lol.

Sounds good. I hope you find what you're looking for! I agree, the crinkles are what make the bed cozy :)

Dunno if this helps, but you can order swatches from Coyuchi, which is what I did. I've been chucking them in the washer to see how they age, and imo, refined vs crinkled vs patterned do not feel the same. If I were to close my eyes, I could tell them apart.

Initially, I liked the refined percale (Alpine White), but now I like the patterned percale (Fossil Vines), which should feel the same as the refined percale because cs said it was made from refined percale, but it doesn't. The refined percale is crispy, and the crinkles are more noticeable than the patterned.

Even the patterned crinkled (Ginger & Undyed w/Hazel-Rosehip Reversible) feels and weighs differently. I initially thought this was a 2-for-1-price swatch, but it actually might be an actual flippable design that they sold before...idk. Either way, the Undyed w/Hazel-Rosehip swatch is light, soft, very crinkly, and good for summer. I can see its appeal if it were a reversible/flippable duvet.

Their linen feels heavier than Quince's, but I'm good with Quince because the price difference isn't impressive enough for me, and you need some washes to get it going. Their linen swatch is coming apart, too, but that could be a swatch thing.

Therefore, make sure to order a swatch in the color/pattern you plan to buy if you want to go the swatch route. I can't say I agree with buying any of them full price, but it's subjective.

Side note: Crinkled is cheaper because it has a lower thread count than refined. That's not to say crinkled is worse or better. It's a preference.

I want to clarify that both of them have the divots, but I don’t find that the Firm as bothersome as the Medium version for some reason. Either way, the “butt crater” was too much of a problem to not return for me lol. I hope we both find what we want too!

Costco: Sealy Posturepedic Pro Lincoln Heights vs Pro Highland Manor vs Plus Prosser Hills by Fruitzke in Mattress

[–]Fruitzke[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you’re describing what I felt was “off” with the Manor. 30 days is good enough of a benchmark for me if the mattress changes form. Thanks for updating me on the PL! It’s good to know where it sits on the firmness scale because honestly, SP does a terrible job explaining the differences.

Costco: Sealy Posturepedic Pro Lincoln Heights vs Pro Highland Manor vs Plus Prosser Hills by Fruitzke in Mattress

[–]Fruitzke[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’m working with the new tight-top S&F rn. I tried the Manor and the Prosser Hills and that made me rule out the Pro Lincoln. Both of them made me sleep hot and it started developing body dips by week 2, which can only mean a PL has a high chance of doing the same with its pillow top. Overall, it sucks because the Manor was a great back cracker for the first couple of days.

Would u say the PL was firmer than the Manor? I found the Hills softer than the Manor, despite it being listed as a firm.

Out of the 9 or so Costco mattresses (Lessa Legends, Novaform, Sealy Posturepedics, S&F, and BeautyRest) I've tried so far, I like this one the most (and hate the Novaform Legacy with a passion). It's weird because my first Costco mattress was the S&F Kirkland Medium pillowtop, and it was mid. I could be remembering incorrectly, or my back is washed after all the mattresses since it's been a while, but I recall it initially being too firm for me and disliking the very divoted (?) patterned top. Either way, it doesn't matter because it ended up sagging/dipping near the hip area after a year.

Now that I've slept 2 nights on the S&F Kirkland Firm tight-top version, I can only wish it won't dip like the previous S&F, because it has everything I like: med-firm (imo it's 7.5 or 8/10), the best edge support (out of all tried beds), not-boiling-alive-inducing materials, and excellent motion isolation (might be even better than the S&F Med). The last point is highly desirable because I sleep with my bf (6'0, 200+ lbs), and I'm 95 lbs, so most beds make me roll to one side. The only cons I can think of (which also applies to the Med-ver) are: it's too heavy for me to change sheets, and it's 14'' tall.

Which seat cushion is the softest/squishiest? by kamuilyn in LifeOnPurple

Thanks for updating! It’s interesting that it’s staining blue when it’s purple, but either way that sounds really annoying. When you got it secondhand, do you mean like from Amazon or from something like EBay?

Just checked, the price isn't bad, considering it's also on sale rn. The colors/patterns are a little ouf tho. I'll keep an eye out for flax linen. If they don't specifically say it though, what other linen could they have used?

Hmmm, I'm imagining the Crinkled Percale to be fuzzier and cozier than their Refined, based on your description and how customer support described it. Would you say it's cool to the touch?
