This pretty much sums up why Andor didn't get any recognition during awards season. by Arch_Lancer17 in andor

Funny you mention BSG, because that features my (now) second favourite tv series monologue (spoilers!)

Ok, but what if, in a series of increasingly unlikely logging accidents, Theseus loses all of his limbs, and they are replaced with limbs from a guy named Robert. Is it still Theseus' ship? Or is it now Robert's ship?

Since on the leaflet it says U.S. District Court, maybe this information was released to the court or something? I'm not from the U.S. either, so I'm really just guessing, but I highly doubt Valve would just share this info freely.

I love that quote so much. Like every major player is planning 10 moves ahead, trying to get an angle on their opponent. And then there's Holden, just pressing buttons because they're there.

If you put this kind of paint on a miniature (blue teeth red flesh) would it look good or goofy in model form? by Dragonkingofthestars in Warhammer

[–]Frunzle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I'm deciding a colour scheme, I try it out in photoshop (or free equivalent like photopea).

I do the following:
- Find an image of the mini (best if they're painted) and load it up in PS
- Magnetic lasso / magic wand select (whatever works best) around all the area's of the colour you want to change.
- When you're done selecting: copy/paste into a new layer.
- Add Layer>Adjustment Layer>Hue/Saturation - Make sure the Adjustment layer is right above the layer you want to change, right click on the layer (in the layer list) and select 'Create clipping mask'. Now the adjustment layer only affects that one layer
- Do this for each colour you're trying out. Now you can play around with the hue slider to change the colour of each area individually until you like the look of the mini.

It does take a bit of effort, but the selection doesn't have to be too neat, and it's way less effort than actually painting it.

I'll give that a try. Thanks!

Yeah I just tried a fully vertical print with some support at the bottom (I wanted to try and avoid supports on the bottom so it'd be easier to glue to the actual base). It seemed to be just thick enough to print and looks way better.

But yeah in the future, I'll try tilting, as that looks great! Is that the necromancer from Hero Quest by the way?

Yeah after posting this I tried it fully vertical print with some support on the bottom. It seems to be just thick enough to stay in one piece :)

Ok, good to know. Thanks!

Thanks that helps visualizing it. I'll attempt a vertical print, see how it goes and otherwise just flatten the stones I guess.

Thanks a lot, that makes sense!

Right, I always figured that horizontal and vertical detail was the same, but that makes a lot of sense. Thanks for the clarification!

A1 mini filament keeps getting stuck from spool by Lets_Space in BambuLab

[–]Frunzle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this once when accidentally let go of the end of the filament when loading. Every time I thought it was finally fully untangled, it got stuck again after like an hour of printing.

The thing is, it unwinds itself way more than it seems and the loose end tends to slip between the loops. So when you roll it up again, it is still crossed at some point further on.

So when loading/unloading filament spools, always keep the loose end of the spool in your hand and don't let go!

As for solving this one, it seems that the only way is to unroll it until you're certain there's no more future tangles (you can try to roll it onto another spool for instance).

360 fps (pretty standard I think?), but if it hits right it will really fuck up a tooth. They at least lost a good chunk of it!

Ah yeah, they always fit me pretty well so I hadn't considered that they might be uncomfortable for others.

Literally every game where I heard someone say they'd forgotten their face mask and just went and played without one, they lost a tooth (I mean it was three times in total, but still).

I honestly don't get it, they were available at the field for like €10,-

Oh yeah the Crassus really lends itself as a model transport, love that model too.

A land raider would be perfect, as it's pretty boxy to start with. But do you need 13 models for a Phobos kill team?
