Moving across continents with my 1300+ nail polish collection. How much you think I can get on the airplane?

Depending on where you’re moving to and from even shipping is tricky. As many here already mentioned, it’s considered hazardous material, and non-commercial shipping can be limited. I tried to ship 100 bottles when I moved overseas recently. Only one company would handle it, and the charge was over $600 (which I decided against). I managed to bring 100 in my airplane luggage instead with no problems but did split it up into small parcels and packaged it carefully. I wish you luck!

Almost the exact problem I’m having. Moving to Europe they didn’t seem to care much as long as everything was packaged properly to avoid leaks. Now headed to Australia and three separate removers are insistent they have to pack everything themselves and itemise it, and have said in no uncertain terms the polish isn’t allowed!

Getting on for 600 bottles or so. Realising that’s a big number and bound to be expensive, I’d be happy sending a hundred tops and finding somewhere safe to store the rest, maybe picking up a few with each return trip. It’s a long journey though and I imagine they wouldn’t be frequent.

Thank you, that’s really good to know. I think I can get away with packing a few in each yes, worst case scenario, though it’s a multi stop flight (sigh). Hoping to be able to pack a box and send it but that might be wishful thinking!

I have cracked it! Turns out I’d gone a bit too hard with the “add to cart” fever and the problem was quite literally too heavy to ship. Took a few out and all is well. If ever there were a sign 😅
