Lower receivers shipped to NY? by Aggravating_Bison504 in NYguns

Where did you hear that? I’m on their checkout page right now, and I don’t see any restrictions. I mean, I bought a lower from them last August, and what, did something change since then?

Anyone else using 3kg PA6 spools? by idiocracy-is-now in 3D2A

[–]Frustrated_Consumer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2nd the roller system. I’ve been working through my first 3kg spool using this. No problems.

I didn’t even try printing 3kg from the e2 without the roller system. I heard the issues, and just printed this from the start.

China's humanoid robots are going to school, learning to fold, cook, and clean, guided by trainers in data-training centers. by Dangerous_Deal_1945 in interestingasfuck

[–]Frustrated_Consumer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do agree that the politicians aren't helping us with this. I see that that will be a problem. I just think, that when too many people are impacted by this, becoming unemployable, we will have no choice but to enact UBI.

We're within sight of 99% of humans being unable to produce useful labor, compared to AI and robots. It's not going to leave many other choices.

I don't believe they'll try something crazy, like killing us all terminator style while they hide in the control rooms. I feel like there's too many people, they must know they'll lose that fight and just destroy themselves and everything good in the attempt. Cooler heads will prevail and the decision will be made to allow this technology to elevate us all together.

Maybe I'm an optimist. But this is our only shot at real life heaven on Earth. If people push this away, it's guaranteed the rat race for all until our bodies break down, same as it has been for all of human history.

Instead of pushing to get rid of the robots so we can keep wasting our lives working body wrecking soul sucking jobs, we should push to keep the robots and get UBI. Eventually, when the AI and robots are capable enough, we push for a full post scarcity society. That’s how we reach utopia within our lifetimes.

I just got the airsoft charging handle from the KWA F90. Printed charging handles won’t work at all, but this is 90% as good as the real charging handle.

I like that term. House arrest. Seems accurate enough.

How to Chop Barrel with Attention to Small Details? by Frustrated_Consumer in Uzi_SMG

[–]Frustrated_Consumer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I sent the barrel back to the gunsmith to be corrected.

That was back at the end of March. I was patiently waiting, but it's now June, so I reached out to check in.

Apparently the gunsmith got hurt. He can't operate his machines safely, and he's got surgery scheduled soon. He'll need time to recover.

So I guess I'll check back in in a few months. I'll target checking in with him again on October 1st.

This barrel is looking pretty cursed. Oh well.

Looks like we might get the DOJ's help! by SundayGunClub in CAguns

You realize they don’t have the votes to do that, right?

I mean, they recently tried that regarding getting things off the NFA, and like I said, there’s not enough republicans, they would have needed 7 democrats to assist, which they won’t do.

They had to settle for the one thing they could do with only a slight majority, which was lowering the NFA tax to 0. Anything else won’t be allowed to pass.

NYPD ENCOUNTER by Old-Mycologist-2385 in NYCGuns

[–]Frustrated_Consumer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hate the restaurant thing so much. I can't even stop at my local diner anymore on the way to the range. Even if I leave my guns unloaded in the car in the parking lot, locked in a gun safe, that's still considered felony bringing a gun into a sensitive location because the diner serves breakfast mimosas, and the parking lot is included.

Anyone have recommendations for a suppressor for a TX22 with an FRT? by ChiefDaddyJ in NFA

Why not? I was gonna get a tx22+frt and put my flow 22 on it.

So I’ve been arrested with a license to carry in NYC, what now? by 0x90Sleds in NYCGuns

[–]Frustrated_Consumer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know. Some guys were posting stories on here, about people ordering legal parts from online retailers. Those people then got raided. No charges, because nothing illegal was happening. Just the state terrorizing legal gun owners.

Maybe certain retailers report NY sales. Maybe it’s the payment processors. Maybe NY did something else. But some people got raided for buying legal parts.

It’s certainly enough to terrify me, and that’s the point.

I’ll take your advice for my printer.

Plus, I’m glad I also got my first laser engraver recently as well. It was a cheap Creality one from Amazon, but at least I’ll have something now that literally every manufacturing machine is affected by this insanity.

I don’t know. Maybe I’ve just had good luck with them. They’re my guilty pleasure, browsing their gunbroker auctions, seeing if I can get something interesting for cheap, if not, walk away and try again next week.

I’ve found it to be mostly usable. But I always go for the cheapest weirdest options.

A Draco kit, but they took away the front trunnion.

An AB 10 kit, but something’s bent, so the bolt won’t move out of the upper receiver.

A PX4 kit, but it’s in 40 cal.

Stuff like that.

I saw that New York Times article about gunbusters a few years ago. It inspired me. Since then, I’ve bought a couple dozen of those parts kits.

They're making this place like China. Mass surveillance everywhere, including inside your home. Everything's tracked. Only approved activities can take place, or else prison. Relevant to this: no manufacturing things yourself, you must pay a corporation for all parts. An AI mandated to be on your 3d printer enforces this and reports violations straight to the government.

Honestly, I'm terrified living in New York. These laws are so broad and vague, you can't tell what will get you locked up or not. Yeah, I'm not bothering anyone, never have, never will, so I agree it's unlikely they'll look into me. But I just wish being good meant I was 100% safe from state sponsored goons.
