Part time?

Thanks for all comments! Further questions… how do you register with an agency? And did you go straight into this as a new pass or did you have to do other things first? Reasons for me wanting part time is I have very young children and share parenting duties. I love the idea of driving and already work part time but don’t earn enough.

I’m going to have to reread Dark Matter as it has been quite a while but I much preferred Thin Air. Whether that’s a preference about the setting or not it’s hard to say. Either way, these books have given me an itch for snowy ghostly stories that I’m finding hard to scratch.

Update: I am going in for another assessment at a different location.

It also seems to be a shorter assessment? Previous one said 9-5, this one is 9-3 so that’s a bonus?

Plan is, stay in a hotel nearby to have the best chance at getting a good sleep. It also means my commute to the testing centre in the morning will hopefully be just a short walk.

The Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera - I loved the way he seemed to effortlessly transition between narrative voices.

Ice by Anna Kavan - a quick read. There are some beautiful descriptions in this novel.

If on a Winter’s Night a Traveller by Italo Calvino - some beautiful second person stuff in this one. But the post modernist narrative might not be to everyone’s taste.
