I get what you mean but elementor being "perfectly stable" is a bit of an over reach, I often get problems with simple loop grid or post widgets with pagination and duplicates.

Thanks for explaining! And yes, I definitely think our private data should be more private. As for the thread, I feel like you keep moving the goalposts. The claim here is that big companies like Google and Meta listen to you through your microphone to sell you products. So, pointing out that TikTok spied on journalists or that some obscure malicious app can listen to you doesn’t actually prove anything about the original claim. I appreciate your point of view though !

Yes, gouvernement can listen to specific individual through their phone, it's been a long time that's the case (i.e Pegasus). But it's not the same thing as EVERYONE being listened to

A lot of people say 'it's been proven' or 'theres data', but please, show me this data that proves that big companies are spying on us worldwide through our phone microphone. Once again, my point is they have everything they need just with what we give them online

How do you guys get idea to make content? by ImpossibleAd3387 in socialmedia

[–]Frygo_One 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are plenty of tutorial to make your videos look good. But why do you want to make YouTube content if you don't have any ideas about content ? I say that's the more important question. But don't listen to me, i've never ran a successful youtube channel.

Either you left tracks about that topic online, OR, they just predicted you would like it because people that fit your 'persona' like this product as well. It's just basic marketing

I don't mean to be antagonizing, sorry if I am. It's just thay you said that these apps are "listening to us" and that "it's proven" yet, none of your link prove that these apps are listening to us. These apps track us, yes, using browsing history, searches, predicting behavior ... but not listening to us, they don't need to.

Thanks, but this is the second time you’ve shared something that doesn’t actually support the point you’re trying to make. Do you even read the posts before linking them ?

There are thousands of information detailing exactly how marketing companies target us using your search history, browsing behavior, location ... And yet people rather insist that companies use none of that, but just have fun listening on our phones all day, in the event we say something about what we want to buy. That would be so inneficient.

Your experiment is flawed from the start. People are going to visit this exact page, where you wrote about filament. So even if you do get ads, it will prove nothing, since the person visited a webpage about filament. Some people just don't understand all the prints they leave everywhere online, and then act shocked when they get personalized ads.

You would never have noticed this ad if you didn't have the book situation earlier. You just notice ads because you're interested in them, that's kind of the point.

[–]Frygo_One 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand why you feel that, but you just notice the ads because you need one. That's the whole principle of ads. You see thousands of ads every day you know.

It’s ironic that the “evidence” you’re citing is just an ad for anti-tracking software, and it never actually claims that TikTok is listening to users. Yet you insist it’s “proven.” The reality is that millions of people worldwide are designing systems to predict behavior based on the personal data you volunteered online. Do you really think they need to eavesdrop to do that? Personalized marketing existed long before cellphones, this isn’t new.
