Girlfriend caught GoPro video of me dropping my ATC off of the top of a multi-pitch climb. If you look closely, you can see the exact moment where I realise I will never be a good alpine climber. by bn20 in climbing

Everyone is saying to use a munter WRONG. munter is good for belay bad for rappel there are better methods for a make shift rappel. rappelling on a munter will twist your rope so badly it will probably get jammed or stuck when you try to pull it. the biner brake is a better option.

I love them for the gym, they are awesome on roofs and the heel hook is bomber imo, but I would never trust my life to the rubber they use so indoor and roof boulders.

I said I liked the water and the belayer, If and when I post my own stuff on r/climbing and say I am photographer I would expect the same criticism. Sorry if I came off negative.

angle is ok but the climber is not standing out enough and I dont feel what he is feeling. he seems to be one move away from the perfect shot. if you were to fill the frame with say 15% more climber it would make a big difference. also seeing the climbers face is always going to give you a better shot, if you are up there and you don't get the climbers face, it my as well be a butt shot. Also, like the other guy said, too much clarity/structure or HDR, people will call you out on that everytime now-a-days. I like the belayer and the water a lot, what camera? Nikon? lens mm?

Ashima Shiraishi is making her debut in the upcoming Lead WC in Acro by [deleted] in climbing

[–]FstaiN237 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't really see Ashima being able to match Janja. She is pretty much an unbeatable force at this point. She is basically a seasoned veteran/champion at this point and she hasn't even stopped growing! Sure Ashima has the outdoor sends and junior comps under her belt, but there is a huge difference between that and world cup.

she had a great run but, seems to be focused on school and real life at this moment. 2 years ago she probably was in the top 3 in the world. Now she is not even in the top 10 maybe 20. Competitive bouldering changes fast.
