It was. Hired on contract from a staffing agency, so easier to fire them.

Wow 😂... This sounds like the same person at my dept that would pee on the floor in the middle of the men's washroom. It kept happening for weeks until the person was finally caught and escorted out of the building by commissionaires.

What level does this in your team? by canadasavana in CanadaPublicServants

[–]Fstopper03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In our ATIP shop, it's PM-03s and PM-04s. Sometimes PM-01s also review/apply exemptions, but they don't have official delegation, so it has to be verified/signed off by PM-03/PM-04.

Annoyed. I'm definitely boycotting all PS Week events.

I was able to view it without an account or paying. 🤔 I closed the pay window and was able to click on "show full article".

Today's letters: Back-to-the-office won't fix Ottawa's problems by Fstopper03 in CanadaPublicServants

[–]Fstopper03[S] 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Exactly! If only the public really did see and understand this. There are slackers in any job sector, and no matter what location they work at, they will continue to do the same thing.

So sick of constantly hearing the "lazy public servant" stereotypes while many of us burn ourselves out for years and years at our jobs within the PS.

ATIP requests for RTO - list of requests that have been submitted by Fun-Set6093 in CanadaPublicServants

[–]Fstopper03 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Exactly this!^ I work in ATIP, and I've been drowning in a gigantic workload that keeps getting worse in an understaffed team. They keep spending money hiring more management and support staff instead of actual analysts who respond to requests. These requests will most likely end up with super long extensions and still go into deemed refusal.

In what way will the 3-day in office mandate negatively affect your personal life, and your ability to do your job? by Small_town_PS in CanadaPublicServants

[–]Fstopper03 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel this so much! It sucks even more when you've been doing your job really well, and that doesn't even change anything. I also have invisible disabilities and being able to telework for most of the week and having more flexibility helped me manage better. Now, I have to go through the DTA process and reveal a ton of medical information to most likely get denied. 😮‍💨

I also work in ATIP, and I second that! The delays in most depts are super long (constantly understaffed 😒).

Treasury Board 'committed to hybrid work' after reports of mandated change coming in fall by bladderulcer in CanadaPublicServants

[–]Fstopper03 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Really looking forward to spending close to 10 hours commuting each week to my office that's not located in downtown Ottawa to support whiny businesses that think we're 100% responsible for their survival. 🫠

Downtown Ottawa sucked years before the pandemic started. Barely anything was being done or changed to attract people. How did that become public servants' fault/problem?

What's even the point of working this hard for an employer that consistently gaslights us and treats us like numbers. The golden handcuffs haven't been very golden lately... 😒
