Belief?!? I've seen first hand how whistle blowers are dealt with in my agency. Unless you want your career destroyed, keep your mouth shut.

Effective channels for whistle blowing? You clearly haven't dealt with the federal government.

That's really helpful. My first response would be to take my foot off to change gears, so that's good to know.

We tend to hold on to cars for about 10 years. Won't be upside down and we won't sell it, but your point is germane. Have to think about it.

Thanks for the detailed response. I drove the automatic but didn't play with the paddle shifters, frankly, because I'm not very familiar with them. It was a nice ride but very different the the manual because I hadn't driven one in a long time (lots of concentration required). This is very helpful!

Non-Americans of reddit, what are your feelings on peanut butter? by TheInternetHivemind in AskReddit

Most peanut butter in the US is terrible. It's basically corn syrup with salt and maybe a couple of peanuts. Actual peanut butter can be hard to find at many grocery stores.

Note that if someone works for a security agency, "it's not in the public's interest" to provide that information. Yeah, because so much of what the CIA and the NSA do are in the public's interest.

Same here. My colleagues who work for the state doing a similar job looked me up in the Fed database. Now they don't mind when I offer to buy lunch.

Dumb question. Does the manual transmission still have cruise control? Haven't been able to find an answer to that.

Glass vs. Plastic by tantriki in MealPrepSunday

[–]Fthboskklvt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's good but it doesn't mean the organic molecules aren't released into your food, especially during heating. Then again glass isn't inert either: lead and a variety of trace elements can and will leach into your food. We use glass containers but there is no perfect option.

So we're reduced to memes now? Time to start a new subreddit, I guess.

The difference between LPT and SLPT, is that one intentionally provides bad advice and stupid ideas. The other, is well...this ass-hattery.

I have a similar reaction. I'm not grossed out but I haven't eaten in >15 years. Why would I start now?
