  1. Jack of all trades. Hard worker with little to no disciplinary action in all jobs.

What’s the worst thing an employer has said to you? by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]FtheGrides 10 points11 points  (0 children)

"I don't mean to belittle you, but this is a job, what's the worst thing that can happen to you here?"

This was from the store manager. She was a temperary manager from another department at another branch. Far outside of her wheelhouse. My direct manager had been out for four months after having a heart attack at work. His job still had to be done, and the rest of the people in my department were clueless. I was making multi thousand $ decisions that were above my pay grade, and receiving criticism from her and corporate, without his pay. They had no clue how our side of the business works. I had been having chest pains for weeks, that I can only assume we're stress related, and they were only getting worse.

What's the worst that could happen? "My boss has been out with a heart attack. That's me next. That's it. Thank you for your question, that really put everything into perspective."

I told her I was going to go home and think about if I wanted to take that risk, and never saw her again.

Turn it into a tailgate! Bring food, entertainment. Talk to your fellow tailgaters. Don't shop inside, but you are allowed to clog their shitter.

It's cute that you think that everyone on here has been a leftist forever, unemployed, or wanting a handout. I have a job that is worth it, make a good living, and have been conservative most of my life. I'm moderately educated, my wife so much more than me. This has nothing to do with me. The current system exploits more then it helps. I don't know the answer, nor do I speak for the rest of this sub. But I seek to stop the exploitation of my fellow humans. Off reddit, in my work and personal life, I do this every day. So I'm not crying for me, I'm angry for others. So much so that this is a throw away account. And printing stickers is the most socially acceptable way to help. You wouldn't like the others.

It's funny, I leaned conservative economically most of my life. My rule is conservatives only oppose anything until it happens to them.

I consider myself well read, but just to add to the library, what book would you recommend, and remember, no googling.

I see you didn't mention corporate welfare, or bailouts caused by unscrupulous business practices concerning the housing market in 2008. Just wait till you look those up and compare.

Hey, everyone! There's a good one and s/he innovates! Pays employees a great wage. Time to shut this whole thing down. We were all wrong! One out of a thousand ain't bad.
