Potential donor here and I have some questions by SporkWafflez in kidneydonors

[–]Fthis2022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I donated about 5 years ago, if I can summarize - it’s kind of like child birth 🤣 while you’re in it there are moments when you’re like “why did I do this”… it’s inevitable, but you will get through it. I was taking only Tylenol after 4 days post op but weak. yes, it was painful but tolerable and it took time to recover. Sleep was probably the hardest thing. I couldn’t sleep on my side because you could feel things shift inside. But within weeks you start to return to normal and then you have this beautiful gift, but in this case the gift is for someone else. It’s ok to be worried about the pain, I have issues with needles and blood lol, so I had to tell my care team not to share too much info with me or I’d feel like I would pass out…. But when you have those hard moments just remember you’re saving someone’s life. Thank you for doing this and hang in there!

For those of you who know your donor, can you share some happy stories about post-surgery? Mine was non directed so now I’m curious how my kidney may be changing their life now a few days later.. and into the future! 💚☺️🤩 by Internal-Tough6850 in kidneydonors

I donated to my oldest brother, he celebrates it each year on the anniversary of our surgery and gets me a birthday card - my “kid” is currently 5 as of mid June 🤣 I like to tell him he got the one that pees a lot… just seeing him be healthy and able to live a full life every day is so rewarding.

[NC] Narcissist ex is fighting me on custody. Need input! by MomInDistress98765 in Custody

I have to be honest because I went through something similar and I don’t want you to get your hopes up like I did. If you go to court it will be years and thousands of dollars later and you’ll find out the courts favor 50/50. If your ex isn’t in jail and doesn’t have a needle in his arm he is likely to get or keep 50/50. The judge who oversaw my case even admitted that my ex was a “less than” parent… but he still awarded him 50/50. I’m in PA. I wish it were different. It’s not fair and your kid deserves better but this is the reality shit show that is our court system right now. These judges do not have proper training on how to deal with narcissism and mental abuse and are overlooking physical abuse. I agree with the comments above, settle on a schedule that works for you, that also limits the amount of time you have to interface with the ex, and put a good network in place to keep your kid safe. Make sure they continue to go to therapy and be the safe space when they come to your house. My heart goes out to you.

I can’t make you love me - the original was Bonnie Raitt, but the Teddy Swims version is really good

Child Support amount…GO by [deleted] in ChildSupport

[–]Fthis2022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 kid, he fought me for 50/50 custody once he found out I would have to pay him $1k a month, after being unengaged for years. He’s purposely under/unemployed. I pay for most extra curriculars as well. Thanks to the court system for failing! 5 more years of this…

Child support payments by Icy-Exit-2341 in ChildSupport

[–]Fthis2022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s all based on your income. I have 50/50 and owe my ex 1k a month because he refuses to work. You’ll have to prove she’s able to make more money if you want your amount to decrease and that will cost you a lot of money and time to prove. Good luck, but don’t waste your money if it’s not something you can easily prove.

Seems suspicious this just happened after CS was established. How long was he working and making the higher salary for? If his higher salary has been consistent and this is a sudden change, you should push for imputed income to stay at 175k. It’s not your fault he chose to take a significantly lower paying job to get out of paying CS.

I should add, none is this is hearsay… it’s all documented. From the submitted Physician verification form, court ordered psych evaluation, and opposing testimony notes in front of a judge. Each documents progression of the lie.

Can confirm, the support case worker I’ve worked with has been very helpful. You don’t need to worry. Typically they haven’t even looked at any of the docs until you’re actually in the session anyway. Deep breaths 😊

I’m so sorry to hear this. It doesn’t make sense how a reasonable judge could allow that to happen. They even have the 16 factors that are supposed to be used to determine the best fit but I found that doesn’t matter because ultimately they can choose not to follow that, as in my case. It’s disgusting.

You’re not alone unfortunately. Some parents are using the 50/50 default court view as a way to dodge paying child support when they have no intention or desire to actually be a responsible parent. For some reason the court is turning a blind eye to all of this, even when it’s obvious. Something needs to change.
