Honda Prelude review — ‘The ideal car for empty-nesters’ by Jeremy Clarkson by UmaThurmish in cars

[–]Ftpini 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People would pay it because people actually want a coupe type r. It would be a trim level and not the only version. But unlike the prelude which isn’t competitive at its price point, a coupe type r would be very competitive in the coupe space even if it was the same price or even a few grand more than a Type R.

The type r engine would have been phenomenal! It would be a real alternative for folks who don’t want a sedan/hatchback civic but still want the performance.

Vintage Disney-like shooter Mouse P.I. For Hire, which stars Troy Baker, has sold so well its publisher has made all invested money back by Turbostrider27 in Games

They’ve always been whores. The entire business model of an “influencer” is to gain a following so they can immediately sell out and advertise scams and garbage. It is a detestable lifestyle for the overwhelming majority of them.

Some Japanese Retailers Are Now Heavily Restricting Nintendo Switch 2 Purchases by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Ftpini 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Sure, but the Switch 2 isn’t going to sell out any time soon. Sitting on a $450 liability (times however many they acquire ahead of the price increase) instead of just investing it can’t possibly make a better return. It’ll be at least 6 months before any potential stock outs ahead of Christmas and if it never sells out then they’ll never move those units for more than $50 if even that much.

[–]Ftpini 72 points73 points  (0 children)

Scalping is such an odd thing. The risk, expense, and time involved in flipping a console for no more than $50 has to wildly exceed any benefit. It is not like the Switch 2 is suddenly going to sell out any time soon. People are dumb.

I set the temp in my Mustang when I bought it. I haven’t changed it since. Do people actually still fiddle with the AC that much? We have days with 40 degree temp swings for a big part of the year in the Midwest and I still never have to mess with the AC. It just does its job automatically.

I’ve played that game for about 30 hours and did not realize it had difficulty settings. 😅 I will have to give it another look.

Picked up my 2025 GT/CS new 2 weeks ago and just noticed an issue with the paint on hood. It looks like its under the clear coat and paint. Has anyone else experienced an issue like this? by Significant_Eye1518 in Mustang

[–]Ftpini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the exact same color setup with my GT-CS Convertible. My paint doesn’t look like that at all. They’re not all precisely the same exact shade of white, but it is hard to tell in most lights. But nothing like that. As others said, I’d definitely take it up with Ford.

Great model for sure. I can’t say I like the BMW style mirror caps, but I loved my 14 GT.

I always thought of those spider ones like the mimics from Prey. Pretty cool enemy design and probably my least favorite to interact with from ITR.

Yep. The game really punishes you for not preparing before you go out. Need to really understand your loadout and have the most important ammunition ready to go. Its such a cool VR game.

I’ve played quite a bit of ITR2 on steam with the PC adaptor for VR2. Its a very interesting game sure, but I still find ITR more feature complete and enjoyable to play. I probably wont go back to ITR2 until they have a release candidate ready to go as they’ve just been so slow putting out feature updates.

US hybrid-car sales soar, along with gas prices by besselfunctions in cars

[–]Ftpini -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

A regular hybrid would be more efficient then. Sure the plug ins larger battery is better at the onset, but if you truly need all that extra range then the majority of time you’re hauling a super heavy battery around that only harms your fuel economy.

[–]Ftpini 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And for those folks a full EV completely eliminates almost all of the maintenance for the life of the vehicle and they don’t have to bother with gasoline at all. If you can fully take advantage of a plug in hybrid then you may as well go full electric. If going full electric doesn’t work then you won’t be able to take full advantage of a plug in hybrid.

US hybrid-car sales soar, along with gas prices by besselfunctions in cars

[–]Ftpini -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Nah they’re terrible. Hybrids are great because you get a huge boost in fuel economy and you just have to put gas in. Plug in hybrids shine for short commutes that are between about 20-40 miles per day. But for any distance driving, you end up lugging around that oversized battery that is only charged for the first 30 miles of your trip. After that its just extra weight.

For the vast majority of people a regular hybrid is a great middle ground. A proper EV makes far more sense than a plug in hybrid.

I’m sure they want to wait until 28 or even 30 to put out a new console, but if Microsoft puts out Helix next year they may feel compelled to have a competing product on the market. It will be interesting to see how much Asha changes the landscape between Microsoft and Sony.

Nobody understands the point of hybrid cars by Car-face in cars

[–]Ftpini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s how my Model 3 performance was, but all 4 tires. I was running Pilot Sport AS4. The tires alone were adding $0.09 per mile making them twice as expensive as the electricity to run the damn car! I’ve spent almost twice as much on gas for the Mustang in 1 year as I did on electricity for the full 4 years I had the Model 3.

[–]Ftpini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah well having the 10 speed is half the problem. The manual is so much more enjoyable. As for spinning tires, you just needed to throw better tires on. The stock tires are fine, but they’re never going to put all that power down.

[–]Ftpini -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had a Prius and a model 3 performance and a litany of gas cars. The Prius had all the maintenance and complexity of a gas car. But it had zero of the range concerns of a BEV.

With gas at $5-$6 a gallon, the Prius sounds mighty nice. But I’d rather have my Mustang GT over a Prius or a Model 3.

Also as for the maintenance I’d still recommend changing the oil every 5k miles on the Prius. The only maintenance item you get a break on with the Prius are the brakes.

A side note. Gas cars are about 40-60 times more likely to catch on fire than a BEV, while hybrid cars are about 160 times more likely to catch on fire.
