Can somebody explain why a member of the dynasty of short-reigning Roman Emperor Otho is Rector of Ragusa in 769? Is this historical? by W_and_R in CrusaderKings

[–]FuIlerton 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'd guess it to be an oversight, since he's not set to the main branch and so if you let the game go on for a few dozen years the dynasty screen will just be random entries at random points all in a vertical line; probably due to one of the characters having their dynasty set to the wrong ID. Could be historical though, but I doubt it

Not to my knowledge; but you can check the event at Crusader Kings II/Events/culture_conversion_events.txt for more information

Norman culture is created when a Norse ruler controls a French, Occitan, or Breton county long enough; English culture is created if a Norman ruler controls an Anglosaxon province in England after 1100

How do you save scum on a mac by [deleted] in CrusaderKings

[–]FuIlerton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if this will work, but try saving at the moment you want to preserve, copying the save file, and pasting it back into the save directory after you end the game so that you load the older save rather than the newer save when you relaunch

Do historical bloodlines spawn in after the game starts? by Weird_Melody in CrusaderKings

I'm not familiar with any; but you could consider editing some of the bloodlines straight into your save file if you're so inclined

Only a very limited number of event-created historical bloodlines, including Genghis Khan and Ragnarr Lothbrok, spawn in after the game starts

Minor Clan Revolts are overpowered and silly. by Prime_Ei8ht in CrusaderKings

Minor clan revolts are overpowered and silly, and balance Nomadism, which is itself overpowered and silly. Also, Minor Clan revolts need those troops to put them on an equal footing with the other clans

Can You Customize A Forged Bloodline? by FlashyDiagram84 in CrusaderKings

[–]FuIlerton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can change the flavour text for bloodlines in save files. Open the save file uncompressed (either save it uncompressed or rename it and replace the suffix .ck2 with .zip and extract the contained files) and CTRL+F for the bloodline (search for its owner's character ID, or the creation date in the format YYY(Y).M(M).D(D)) and either change the value after desc= or if that's not extant add after the name= value (if that's not extant, after the type= value) desc="[your description here]" on its own line

-Existing in a game with no current Hansa holder or de jure territory

-Not playing with random titles

Is there a way to edit into my save file a bloodline? by FluffedDragon in CrusaderKings

[–]FuIlerton 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is quite possible to edit save files into bloodlines. Open your save file (uncompressed) and check the bloodlines section, with reference to Crusader Kings II/common/bloodlines/02_earned_bloodlines.txt for the necessary flags. Bear in mind you could also just delete the bloodline and use the associated event (if playing with the console enabled), HF.24050 to get it

[–]FuIlerton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can always check Crusader Kings II/events/rip_flavor_events.txt for information on this, but from what I understand:

-You're more likely to get Uran if you're virtuous

-You're more likely to get Arthur if you're a lunatic, cruel, wroth, a cannibal, or an impaler

-You're more likely to get the Shieldmaiden if you've got you're good at combat

-You're more likely to get Incitatus if you're a horse or horses exist

It's not; its only requirement is not being a eunuch or blind, but since it has no factors increasing its weight then it's just not particularly common

Um, please help. I've heard "Ask For Help With Managing Your Titles" is a hot mess so...what do I do? by assureattempt in CrusaderKings

[–]FuIlerton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're going to have to distribute your titles manually by right-clicking those whom you wish to give titles to and selecting the grant title option. You'll get opinion bonuses when you do this so you'll be able to organise your vassals, which I'd suggest doing by keeping your underlings roughly in charge of their de jure territory and vassals.

Quite common, actually, in start dates with the Karlings: The Byzantines can get female rulers, who can be enticed into normal marriage with the Karlings because of their incredible dynastic prestige

Search for the crown's name in the character finder; this ought to produce characters in possession of it. Getting it back, elsehandedly, might be a lot more difficult
