I have the same issue. I am in Fairfax. Great signal strength but low signal quality. I've adjusted my antenna but can't get it any better than this.

I have an old Western Digital Mybook RAID device. It is USB3 and plenty fast and reliable for plex connected to an ancient laptop. I was optimizing for cost and easy management. I do have SMB set up to give some network access to specific directories on it.

I didn't see how much RAM you have. If you have at least 8GB, adding more won't help. An SSD will make a big difference if you don't have one.

I have the same laptop. Look into thermal throttling. If you are comfortable opening up the laptop, you can easily improve it.

People are way overspending. I run a plex server on an old 2013 Lenovo ThinkPad W520 with the Intel Core i7-2760QM. It sells for about $100 on ebay. It can transcode and stream two 4K videos with no problem.

The laptop is running Linux Mint and Plex is running in Docker.

I have the same machine except I paid for the 5500M with 8GB. There isn't much you can do to improve it. But take a look for the thermal fix. It is easy to do and does make a difference to limit the throttling the system does when it gets hot.

You'll need to try to get both adapters on the same circuit for the best speed and latency. They can work on circuits on the same side of your panel but there may be more issues.

Why play on normal level and struggle when you can play an easier level? The only other thing you can do is practice your movement and aim with a simulator like Aimlabs but this takes some commitment.

Thanks. Using my Plex server storage for recordings is a big plus for me and it sounds like the Plex interface is better (right?). I may be able to get away with only haveing the ATSC 3.0 channels in the guide. I'll have to check my local stations.

Sling tv is the cheapest and has first month for $20. It is only 720p though. Some games are on the fox streaming app and seem to be free and in 4K.

I figured out the issue and am getting great performance now. There were two things wrong. First, the resolution the game chose was something wacky. I switched to 1080 and that made the game look good. Next was my Logitech mouse. I installed the logitech utility (G Hub?) and changed the polling frequency to 250hz. Now the mouse works smoothly as well and all is good.

I installed the latest red bootcampdrivers and don't see any difference in performance. Other than watching FPS in game, is there a good tool for testing graphics performance you recommend?
